The time in between Eclipses is often uncomfortable. The Solar Eclipse brings in a rush of new energy. We can feel limitless with the dreams, ideas, goals and expansion calling us. The Lunar Eclipse is about shedding and letting go: old habits, behaviours, beliefs, patterns, and sometimes people.


Right now you may feel as if you are between a rock and a hard place, as on one hand you want to surge forward. Yet on the other there is all this unpleasant 'stuff' coming up for your attention, either within you or you are seeing it in others. Maybe you are surging forward regardless, in which case: fabulous!


This 'stuff' can make it seem like everything is going pear-shaped, but in fact it is just like the dust that flies around when you give your room a good clean.


Years ago (or even months ago) we may have invested a lot of time trying to work out where all this dust was coming from, why it was there, etc etc etc. Now, all we need to know is: the dust is no longer needing or wanting to be part of us. Likewise, we no longer need or want the dust. We are like that lotus flower emerging out of the mud, realising, oh wow, I'm a big lotus flower, I wasn't all that mud after all!


Our beliefs around lack are old programs: press eject. Our beliefs around not being good enough or worthy enough: vote them off the island. We are going to see a lot of old behaviour and emotions come out of ourselves and others in the coming days and week. Try not to let it push your buttons or give you a reason to berate yourself for not having 'got this' already. Try not to let it cause an argument between yourself and someone you love or your colleagues, or spiral you into a pit of judgement and despair.


We are the lotus flowers emerging out of the mud - so some mud of course will come up as we grow. You or others may feel irritable and nit-picky - as the mud comes up, it is so different now to who we have become, the vibration is so much denser, and you will feel that as heaviness or tension or like something you want to break free from. Knowing it is old mud being brought up by our emerging lotus flowers might help your process.


Eclipses are growth-accelerators. Focus on the lotus flower that you are, and that others are, while becoming increasingly aware of what no longer works for you, or for our world.

WE BEGIN a new month today, a month of preparation and alignment in anticipation of what is to come.


The energies of March and April are on the horizon, a wave building in our awareness. As we look forward to the final Pluto-Uranus square, the Solar and Lunar Eclipses, and the Aries Equinox, our job now is not to hold back in fear or in resistance to change.


Instead, we want to understand that the nature of a river is to flow. If we can feel resonance with that flow, even the white water becomes a tool for faster movement and excitement, instead of something to be feared.


This month, our job is to set our sights on some larger, perhaps loftier goal that we want to achieve, and to come into resonance with the vibrational frequency of that goal.


THE FULL MOON on Tuesday is our astrological focal point of this first week of February. This Full Moon is in Leo, perhaps the most dramatic of the 12 signs of the zodiac.The Sabian symbol for the Moon's location at the time of the lunation reads:


    "A pageant, with its spectacular floats, moves along a street crowded with cheering people: The more or less sensational release of energies in a form dramatizing the unconscious aspirations of man's primitive and instinctual nature."


This symbolic image reminds us that it is a basic human need to express and release emotional energy. The fulfillment of this need could even be one of the "higher purposes" of such things as Super Bowls and sports competitions.


Sporting events also fulfill another of Leo's needs -- that of belonging. Get strangers in a room who have nothing in common but their favorite sports team, and you will have a room full of people who can immediately create a sense of belonging and camaraderie.


JUPITER is within four degrees of the Moon at the time of the Full Moon. This largest of the planets, appropriately, usually has the effect of increasing the influence of whatever it touches. Based on that, we can assume that Leonine traits will be enhanced this week -- enthusiasm, generosity, creativity, and pride on one end of the spectrum, and theatrics, conceit, hunger for attention, and intolerance on the other.


We need to remember, however, that a Full Moon always locates the Sun exactly opposite the Moon, and is meant to provide a counterpoint, an opportunity for us to see polarities and to find a balance point in the middle.


This Leo Full Moon is opposite the Sun in Aquarius. Aquarius helps us move beyond self-centeredness and into a better understanding of the meaning of community. Aquarius always pushes us to see things in a new light, and to interpret life through a less personalized perspective.


URANUS trines the Moon and sextiles the Sun during the Full Moon. Whenever Uranus sticks its thumb in the pie, we are encouraged to "expect the unexpected." We will benefit by being flexible and openminded on Tuesday, especially around the time of the Full Moon (exact at 3:08pm PST), choosing to go with the flow of the river instead of trying to swim across or against the current.


Pluto is also engaged in energies of this Full Moon, not through major aspects to the lunation itself, but because Pluto continues to be joined in strong square aspect with Uranus. This means that the universe may use this Full Moon to move us forward into bigger life choices and changes, through helping us be aware of something that until now has been hidden from view.
