Sarah Varcas: July 2018 Astro-Energy Report Truth Found in Darkness

July 2018 Astro-Energy Report
Truth Found in Darkness

By Sarah Varcas

All dates are UT so may vary in your time zone

July is a month of deep inner movement which, like a quake far below the earth’s crust, may well shake foundations, but is less likely to bring the structures of our lives crashing down. With up to six retrogrades throughout the month, two eclipses (one also a Supermoon) and Mars still on the South Node, our internal world is in the spotlight while the external one may disappoint. This is a time of profound and sometimes hard truths; of unrelenting forces of change which penetrate our psyches to reach the most intransigent parts of the shadow self. If we cling to falsehoods for security or resist the current evolutionary arc which emphasises the fertile complexities of darkness, we will struggle. But when we allow that darkness to deepen and enrich us, we can know peace like never before. Sometimes we must simply be endarkened, not enlightened, to know the truth.

This month emphasises the correlation between inner and outer. Shifts in perspective will bring about changes in circumstance, revealing just how deeply the observer impacts the event. There is no such thing as a ‘pure’ happening, only experience to which we assign meaning that makes sense of a complex world. But that ‘sense’ isn’t necessarily true. A semi-sextile between Chiron in Aries and Uranus in Taurus throughout July provides ample opportunity to observe the impact of our attitude upon life’s unfolding. Chiron demands an assertive response to challenge. It doesn’t have time to wallow in self-pity or detach into premature transcendence. It simply wants us to get over ourselves and move on! Combined with Uranus’s unremitting assault on the most inflexible parts of the psyche (which often harbour our deepest fears), this is a potent alliance which fosters new ways to respond to old problems and awakens the possibility for change where it’s long overdue.

Throughout July we can look fear in the eye, stand firm and refuse to be diminished. It’s okay to feel it. Everyone does. It’s completely natural. But it helps to know it as well as feel it. Notice its truths and its lies. Feel its heightened senses or its feathery fingers around your throat. Know that fear is part of you, not an external invader. We create fear with the stories we conjure about life, ourselves and other people, so pay attention to its triggers now. Where do you feel it in your body? Which thoughts and beliefs generate it and which help it subside? What’s the difference between healthy fear that protects your boundaries and diminishing fear that reduces your ability to make decisions and take an active part in life? Do you fear fear itself, acting obsessively to avoid encountering it at all?

Self-doubt may also be rife this month. We may feel lost or devoid of direction. But again, it’s okay to feel this way. It’s all part of the internal recalibration taking place. Doubt is often characterised as a hindrance, a limiting weakness. But right now it’s a subtle force of change, calling into question false certainties, and challenging assumptions. It introduces the new by dissolving investment in the old. Doubt creates space and the opportunity to look again at something so familiar we barely see it at all.

July begins with Mercury on the North Node until 5th, opposing Mars on the South Node. Interaction will get us a lot further than insistence! If you don’t like what’s happening around you, open lines of communication and begin a dialogue rather than stubbornly digging in your heels, insisting you know best. Be clear about what you want but stay cool when others seek different outcomes. Mercury turns retrograde later this month, providing plenty of opportunity to review and rethink. Whilst there might be a sense of urgency as the month begins, there’s actually more time than we think to reach an agreement that serves everyone, not just the few.

On 3rd July Chiron in Aries and Saturn in Capricorn form a square which lasts until the end of September. This square initiates us into deep time, where change takes as long as it takes and occurs in an instant; where all is perfectly whole and forever fragmented. Saturn in Capricorn oversees the passage of clock and calendar time, delivering outcomes and consequences from one moment to the next. Chiron in Aries steps outside of time, delivering rectification in the blink of an eye and new beginnings before the old has become dust. We arrive in this deep time of Chiron – which brings lightening-strike deliverance from long-term pain – by grace, not will; by faith, not intention. Saturn keeps our feet firmly planted in the ‘real’ world of responsibility, work and effort. It holds us to account, insisting we take charge of our lives. Chiron points to the mystery beyond Saturn’s pragmatism. We enter this mystery when we soften around life’s challenges, release the need to be in control and surrender to a universe which disregards our personal plans in favour of its own. The world still has its call upon us and we remain beholden to this human realm, but our spirit is free to connect across time with deeper truths that initiate us into a more vital relationship with the essence of life itself.

As the energy of this square intensifies in the coming weeks we’re drawn into the complexities of time and its evolutionary impact beyond the everyday. We may, for example, go to bed one night profoundly different to the person we were when we awoke. The very fabric of our life may be torn asunder by inner shifts that occur in a single day. Or a long-standing situation of great challenge may, in the blink of an eye, reveal its own solution hidden in plain sight just waiting for eyes to see. This square offers both challenge and hope: the challenge of stepping outside our ordered existence into no time and all time, and the hope of release from the twists and turns of our tiny mind which can make our days interminable and our nights hard to endure.

Chiron begins five months retrograde on 5th July, bringing the number of retrograde planets to six (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto being the other five). With so many retrogrades our energy is best invested in our inner life and not the outer world. Whilst we must still keep the plates of our lives spinning, we can be in the world but not of it for a while, allowing its hooks and seductions to fall away while we attend to the well-being of our soul. Between 5th and 11th July Neptune lends its support through a trine to the Sun, encouraging a gentle and compassionate response to life, softening us as we bump against its hurdles, helping us yield and in doing so stay strong.

Between 6th and 12th July Jupiter squares Mercury. In Leo, Mercury identifies deeply with personal opinion and engages with the world in a highly subjective way. Jupiter in Scorpio demands deeper exploration of the inner drives underpinning personal perspective. During this square we cannot get away with ‘because I said so’ or ‘don’t do as I do, do as I say’. Rigorous honesty is required, as is unflinching attention to our deeper motivations. With Mercury entering its retrograde ‘shadow’ on 7th July, consideration of what we say, why and how we say it becomes increasingly important, continuing to be so until the beginning of September.

Pluto opposes the Sun between 9th and 15th July, replacing the yielding energy of Neptune’s trine with something altogether more intense! Occurring as an eclipse season begins on 10th, we’re challenged to both own our power and relinquish it in equal measure. When action is needed, take it. When surrender is necessary, do it. The key lies in knowing the difference, for the times we need to surrender often feel like we should act, and sometimes when we need to act we’d rather surrender and let life (often in the guise of other people!) make decisions on our behalf. Pluto opposing the Sun confronts us with the issue of power, how we use it, where and why. Do we struggle to maintain control over others to stop them changing us? Do we deny our power, preferring a victim stance that absolves us of all responsibility, leaving us forever disappointed but always ‘blame free’? Do we focus so intensely on controlling the physical realm that we forget everyday life is a metaphor for something altogether more mysterious? This opposition confronts us with our influence on the unfolding of life and the extent to which we create our reality versus reality shaping us.

Also on 10th July Venus enters Virgo and Jupiter turns direct in Scorpio. This Venus finds joy in small things easily overlooked: the nuances of a single moment, the subtle dynamics that change the shade of an experience. She finds beauty in the minutiae so often missed and helps us do the same, while Jupiter illuminates the interplay of conscious and unconscious forces in our lives. Jupiter in Scorpio knows no fear. It simply seeks penetrating truth and passionate experience to foster deeper roots and more expansive aspirations. Each in their own unique way, both Venus in Virgo and Jupiter in Scorpio appreciate the necessity of light and dark, shadow and illumination, making them valuable allies during the eclipses to come.

13th July sees the first of them: a solar eclipse in the 21st degree of Cancer opposed by Pluto and occurring at a supermoon. This promises to be an intense eclipse with the power to shake deeply our internal foundations, especially those upon which we rely without a second thought. Emotional sensitivity will be greatly heightened as we encounter aspects of the self previously ignored or denied. Events may bring them to the surface, but they’re just as likely to emerge of their own accord, as consciousness expands to embrace the shadow self. Solar eclipses often augur unexpected events and this one is no exception, but this time the events may be largely internal. Our sense of identity, purpose and meaning may shift dramatically and with little warning, if not around the actual eclipse, during the months to come. What was, not so long ago, worth fighting for may lose its seductive charm to reveal an empty core. We may discover our motivation is not our own but instead co-opted from those who’ve left their footprints in our psyche without our being aware. Previously enjoyed kinship may feel a lot less like home, threatened by the emotions and impulses arising within.

A concomitant Grand Trine in Earth formed by Uranus, Saturn and Venus between 11th and 14th July will anchor us amidst any eclipse storms. Facilitating pragmatic responsiveness, it provides the resilience needed to shift intransigent emotions and behaviours when it’s their time to go. If the unexpected strikes stand firm, stay strong and know there are forces all around that will help you endure even the most dangerous and intimidating storms right now.

A quarter Moon in Libra on 19th July marks the halfway point between the solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse on 27th. Forming a T Square with the Sun and Eris, it affirms that the strongest relationships are built on a foundation of emotional independence coupled with courageous intimacy. We do not surrender to the other but to the relationship itself, whatever form it takes, allowing it to shape and change us even as we bring our own unique spirit and vitality to its formation. In the midst of an intense eclipse season, taking care of relationships is paramount, for in them we find and provide strength, even as it is equally vital that we stand apart when necessary and face life alone.

The Sun begins its month-long journey through its own sign of Leo on 22nd July, lifting us out of heavy emotion into a more buoyant state of mind. On the same day, together with Uranus and Mars, it begins to form a T square which remains until 28th. T Squares always come with pent-up energy. All the more so when Uranus and Mars are involved! They augur both intense creativity and destructive frustration, so we have an important choice to make: Do we respond to life’s provocations with stubborn assertions of our right to call the shots, or do we allow the unassailable force of life itself to take charge, flooding us with creative potential we could never conjure simply by sheer force of human will? Uranus in Taurus, at the apex of this T Square, is mobilised to shift the most obstinate aspects of human nature which block the current evolutionary flow. We cannot stop it. To try is simply a waste of time and effort. What we can do is surrender to it, allow ourselves to be immersed within its revolutionary power and become part of evolution, not its enemy! The personal is now as vital as the collective and how we respond to the minutiae of daily life is just as influential as events lauded on the world stage. Everyone has a part to play and no one is inconsequential in this unrelenting march into a future still balanced on the brink.

Mercury is retrograde in Leo between 26th July and 19th August. Aspecting Eris and Black Moon Lilith as it changes direction, it augurs intense exchanges and exhilarating insights in equal measure. There may be battles a plenty as we strive to uncover previously inaccessible and potentially life-changing personal truths. If you’re seeking honesty and openness at this time, be prepared to receive them full blast whether you like what you get or not! Truth may storm through our lives like a hurricane now, ripping all from its anchor. Once out of the box it won’t be neatly folded up and put away. But rest assured, we’re ready for this even though it may not feel like it! Whatever is revealed needs to be known. And if we’re hiding the truth – from ourselves or another – it may come crashing through our deceptions like a tsunami if we won’t let it bubble gently to the surface to be known.

A lunar eclipse in the 5th degree of Aquarius on 27th July (conjunct Mars in the T Square mentioned above) reveals the inner cause of outer conditions. Whilst we may rail against the unfairness of life, we experience nothing which is not characteristic of who we are. Which doesn’t mean we’re directly responsible for everything that happens to us. But it does illuminate the mysterious correlation between our inner world and outer experience which, as we live life more deeply, reveal undeniable reflections each within the other. This eclipse fires our passion whilst reminding us that objectivity can be a refreshing break when life is intense. If emotional storms abound, take a step back and breathe deeply. Remember, we are not in the eye of the storm forever and finding the still spot when turmoil reigns is a very handy skill to have in times such as these!

Around the time of this eclipse and in the months to follow, revelation of our deeper motivations will continue. If we’re pursuing agendas introjected from others or presiding social mores, this will become abundantly and undeniably clear. Childhood patterns, familial expectations so deeply rooted they feel like our own, dictates of society, religion, spiritual teachings past and present, all may shape us aside from our authentic spirit. This eclipse season, and especially this lunar eclipse, opens Pandora’s box of influences to reveal what’s really going on. It may not look pretty at first, but in the long run it will foster greater awareness and understanding, diminishing our capacity to be influenced by externals to serve agendas not our own.

Of course, it works both ways! Others may awaken to our influence and begin to resist what once felt like minds and hearts in accord. Offering space to each other to process and explore these internal upwellings will be a compassionate gift of great value now, although not one easily given. It can be deeply unsettling when the ground of significant relationships begins to shift and swell. Patience, with ourselves and each other, as we all navigate a changing interior will go a long way to reducing potential conflict that could do more harm than good. We still have one more eclipse to go (a solar eclipse in Leo on 11th August) so this process of unveiling is not yet complete. And with Mercury retrograde until the middle of next month, there will be plenty of opportunity to get to the root of things and recalibrate perspectives accordingly.

On 31st July, asteroid Vesta completes a retrograde journey begun on 9th May. This feels significant and supportive. Vesta, keeper of the hearth fire and the sacred flame, imbues us with hope and devotion to those causes which matter. She completes her retrograde passage in Sagittarius, the sign of faith and optimism, reminding us that attitude and perspective are crucial to how we experience life. If we decide there’s no hope, nothing will change (or too much is changing!), we can’t get what we want, we always mess up or everything is everyone else’s fault, we’ll reap difficult outcomes now. But if we embrace Vesta’s message – that even in the darkest hour, the tiniest flame of faith in life’s restorative power can light our way– we may be surprised at just how much changes in ways deemed impossible before.

It will be tempting to take life very personally at this point! And who wouldn’t? I mean…. life is a very personal experience! But it’s also an impersonal one, unfolding around and through us without consideration of individual needs, concerns and desires. The more we can appreciate the achingly intimate and expansively impersonal maelstrom that is life, the better we can act with power when necessary and relinquish control when we must, led by the innate intelligence of a life whose mysterious ways are forever beyond our understanding and yet seeded deep within our soul.

OUR PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE on Monday has gotten very little press in comparison to the "Great American" Total Solar Eclipse coming up on August 21 -- but we do ourselves disservice if we discount or ignore the intentions of tomorrow's event. It occurs at 11:10am PDT (6:10pm GMT), when the Moon in Aquarius is exactly opposite the Sun in Leo, and provides an opportunity (and the incentive) for us to clear out old patterns and behaviors that have limited our creative and joyful participation in life.

The Moon is conjunct the fixed star Alnair at the time of the eclipse. Roderick Kidston wrote in his book The Magic of the Stars that Alnair:

"... points to spiritual aspirations, even abilities, and is one of the truly artistic and inspirational stars. It has a very refined and often beautiful impact, but this superior rarity and polish are not always useful, practical influences. It fosters such a preoccupation with the higher planes that it can be hard to come down to this earthly one and simply get on with the everyday business of being here now."

THE LOFTIER QUALITIES associated with Alnair are strengths that we can draw upon now -- but since this is a karmic "South Node" eclipse, we also must look at which of these characteristics we are being asked to leave behind. Certainly not our spiritual inspirations, or our "sensitivity and openness," two other qualities Kidston assigns to the star.

But Kidston also explains that "The trickiest part of this star is the way it often heightens sensitivity to the point of hypersensitivity." When we think about what might keep us from becoming more involved in life -- the evolutionary development that the North Node in Leo requires -- or in supporting a cause that we believe in, for many of us it comes down to feeling overwhelmed by the enormity of the problems, or by the level of pain and suffering we might encounter if we step into greater activism.

I like the advice Kidston gives on how to work with Alnair's proclivity for escapism or avoidance:

"Cultivate your talents and burnish them as brightly as you can, for then you can become a clear open channel for the exalted energies of much higher powers and fulfill your spiritual ideals. When you overcome your natural shyness and open up a little, you can expand like a flower and find the world isn't always so scary after all: not everyone or everything presents a danger to be avoided."

OTHER COMPONENTS of the eclipse chart reveal a bit more about how this Lunar Eclipse will be working with us, both in the coming week and the coming months. Here's a list of the most significant aspects:
  • Sun conjunct Mars in Leo, both trine Saturn: This trio of planets in powerful and positive relationship with each other assists us in having the energy to invest in activities that add meaning and creative fulfillment to our lives.
  • Mercury conjunct the asteroid Vesta in Virgo, both opposing Neptune: We find here the need to balance practicality with idealism, and to make a new commitment to how we want to be of service to the higher good.
  • Jupiter square Pluto: An emphasis on power struggles and legal battles, as we grapple with how best to respond to the misuse of authority. Can we channel our own power effectively and with integrity?
  • Uranus semisquare Neptune: We are reassessing a pattern of response that we became aware of in the early 1990s, when these two planets were aligned. How did we react then to issues that may have arisen suddenly and unexpectedly? How did we move beyond disillusionment or denial and come to terms with the changes that were occurring? How do we apply what we learned back then to situations that are unfolding now?
  • Venus conjunct Ceres in Cancer, both trine Neptune: This is the "soft spot" of the eclipse chart, a subtle and uplifting influence that expands our compassion and caring, and our ability to transcend our personal needs and to give selflessly. Through these planets we open our hearts and our psychic sensitivity in ways that enable us to become the healers we are meant to be.
So, not too shabby for an "also-ran" eclipse, eh?

THE SABIAN SYMBOL for the Lunar Eclipse is quite intriguing:

"A big businessman at his desk: The ability to organize the many aspects of an enterprise involving a large group of human beings."

On a practical level, this symbol is encouraging, telling us that this eclipse might assist organization and cooperation among those who work in political or organizational realms. Astrologer Dane Rudhyar, in his interpretation of this symbol, wrote that:

"The New Age should be one in which we learn to use the power generated by human togetherness and group interplay -- that is, to use it harmoniously for the welfare of the whole of which all individuals are parts, humanity and the planet Earth."

And, knowing that we have the "big eclipse" just two weeks away, I was also interested to read these words near the end of Rudhyar's description:

"The concept of management needs to be totally reevaluated if humankind is to actualize the spiritual potentialities implied in the evolutionary transformation JUST AHEAD." (emphasis mine)

A FINAL NOTE on this week's planetary events: Mercury goes retrograde in Virgo at 6:00pm PDT on Saturday (1:00am GMT on Sunday). This retrograde phase happens three (or four) times a year, and life goes on, even if we have a few extra detours or communication glitches along the way. Mercury will still be moving backward at the time of the Solar Eclipse on August 21, which means we might not fully comprehend the impact of the eclipse right away.

But, what is most significant about this particular retrograde phase is that on September 5, when Mercury comes to a standstill and then turns to go forward, the planet will be at the same degree as the August 21 eclipse (28+ degrees Leo). It sounds like Hermes (Mercury) needs to run back to grab some bit of information that he forgot or disregarded originally. Once he has it in hand, hopefully we can all -- finally -- start to make progress.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: This is a powerful year for you, Leo. You are coming to terms with certain aspects of your personality that have interfered with your ability to live your life in the now, with the open heart and joy you long to feel. You have the courage, the discipline, the awareness, and the sensitivity to make great progress in whatever creative endeavor you choose to engage. You are learning that your true power is in your love, whether you are working in personal, professional, or spiritual realms.

In peace,

Pam

Thank You Thursday: Divine Feminine Energy Hillis Pugh a message from Hillis Pugh

Thank You Thursday: Divine Feminine Energy

Today have an appreciation for the Divine Feminine Energy.

What is Divine Feminine Energy? Let's begin to break it down word by word to better understand it. The word Divine means Source, God, or God-like, containing the energy of Source. Feminine is woman or feminine characteristics. Energy is just that, energy flowing to and from a host, making us who we are and the space we live. The Divine Feminine Energy is Source energy carrying feminine characteristics to each entity on the planet. What does all this mean? All three are constant in our world. All three are a part of the evolution of humanity. There is no one being without out this characteristic/energy.

When we hear the word feminine, we usually associate it one who is "girly", delicate, frilly, and the like. For decades there have been women changing the idea of what a woman is, Susan B. Anthony, Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King, Hilary Clinton and so on. And as the old saying goes, "Behind every strong man, there is a strong woman." Have we ever taken a look at these women? These women had something special, they were like we are all Divinely Guided to stand in their personal power. But the women we know who announced themselves to the world, stepped in their power with love and grace. The television is a good example of how these women stepped in their power. If you look at the news, talk shows, dramas, and comedies, they all have a woman who owns her power and accept who she is. Each life area is portrayed to some degree of what we want or like to be. It is now finally being recognized that a woman is equal to what a man can do, even though they have been doing it for years.

Some men may feel threatened or emasculated by rise of feminine energy. The men have not always been in charge. Over a millennia ago, the women were in charge. They were nurturers and providers, and yet knew when to execute a firm hand, just like today. A good example of this was in the Native American Tribes. The elders and those who sat on the council of the tribe were women, and even some had the duties of what we feel a man would do. Then eventual there was change in power, through convincing of "might is right", causing conflict. This dears ones had to happen like all else in life we chose as a collective to see which one works best. In order to find out which one worked better for the evolution of humanity, there had to be contrast. We like to experiment on ourselves to see which will work best.

We experience contrast in our daily lives. This contrast aides in us making better choices, even if it means reliving a mistake, sometimes we have to be sure of what we really want. How do we not know what we want? Contrast is the only way to know what works best for us. Then we as an individual being part of the collective pass our learnings, experience, and new found knowledge to others. With this level of sharing, we have a chance to guide others from making the same choices we created for our self, with their permission.

Now we are aware of what did work for this world with masculine energy, and we chose to come back into balance with the feminine. Dear ones, earlier I mentioned that every being has the feminine energy within self, as well as masculine, it is only a matter in how you wish to express it.

For example, the households are changing, dads wish to stay home to care and nurture while the moms go out and earn a living. Many people question the purpose of homosexuality, it is to help create balance in the world, be examples of how men and women embrace their traits opposite to what society thinks it should be.

Everyone has a choice to express their Light in a manner comfortable to them. You see it is all about what we allow. Our allowing of the Divine Feminine Energy creates a balance within self. This is what the rise of this energy is about, balance. It's not about the rise of "girl power". It's having balance in Self and the Planet.

The balance we allow on can benefit and strengthen Self. Yes dears ones, I know and understand it is uncomfortable, but in due time we will come to accept the change, the balance we all have asked for. Our Divine Light is here to guide us and release the contrast we have created, for we now know what we want. Allow the light in Self to be seen and revel in joy expressed.

Today have appreciation for those who stand in their power and is comfortable in it.

Today have appreciation for the contract we created to know what we truly desire.

Today have appreciation for the balance we are now allowing and the Light expressed because of it.

The Energies of March 2015 - A New Strength a message from Jamye Price

The Energies of March 2015 - A New Strength
a message from Jamye Price

Friday, 6 March, 2015

February had quite a flow to it.  Though it was presented as ‘momentum flow,’ it sometimes felt like a deluge!  Or sludge.  ;o)  Depending on how the momentum was flowing.  Momentum is gained when forces are working in your favor, so when you go with the natural flow of things, it benefits you.  That isn’t always easy because the natural way of change is a new direction, so you must slow, shift and build momentum in a new direction.  The momentum of manifestation is invisible at first, so you must focus, trust and allow new information.   So even momentum isn’t always an even keel of flow – and that is a beautiful thing in many instances.  Rest and play are important parts of the human experience.  Have you been doing enough of that?  I haven’t. :o)

In this Year of Creativity, these first months have had a lot of emphasis on the mental aspects of creating, where we begin to form in the subtle realms.  Why not the heart, you ask?  The heart is extremely powerful and important in creativity!  It is your most powerful electromagnetic emanation and you would benefit from letting your Love and passion flow freely! The mind is your mechanism of focus and focus directs form.  What is felt in the heart becomes focused in the mind.   The perspectives that are spinning in your head create a vibrational flow that also emanates out, so it is important to harness and direct your thoughts, which absolutely must include your feelings.  They are like two sides of one coin.

I mentioned that the February energies also supported the release of grief (anyone have lung issues in Feb?). Also, it stimulated the release of family karma that had been dormant for a while.  I saw a lot of anger and blame issues rising to the surface for healing.  It never announces itself as coming up for release, it just comes into your experience.  It surfaces along with feelings of frustration, resentment or perhaps even feelings of failure that you are not a perfect lightworker loving unconditionally and sacrificing endlessly.  It’s so important to be authentic with your feelings and to make choices that are healthy win/win solutions for all involved.  A healthy win/win doesn’t always feel like a delightful moment (but sometimes it does – so go for it and find out!).  Like building a muscle, it takes effort to build new, healthy boundaries and yet the efforts result in more ease in the future.  Your authenticity with feeling the anger, fear, etc. helps it resolve rather than remain.  You can release and resolve in healthy ways that don't cause more harm for anyone.  The release of the grief and dealing with the anger lead us to March energies…

A New Strength

The astrology in March is daunting.  We have a lot of Mars movement and energy in March.  We have the seventh and final of the Pluto/Uranus squares.  We have an eclipse on the equinox.  A month of change indeed!  The energy of 7 is a bit like a square itself.  Seven is the energy of the past meeting the present and a change of direction.  It results in wisdom when utilized to your benefit.  As you resolve grief, anger and blame, you find a new strength within.  Is that drama from the past holding you down or building your strength (like a muscle)?  It is the strong that create real, lasting change here on Earth.  Are you strong enough to choose to say no to something that is harmful for you?  Are you strong enough to say yes to something that scares you, but is really safe (like being creative or loving another)?  Are you strong enough to love yourself so much that you are feeling blessed by being alive and overflowing that Love to all you meet?

March is a month of finding a new strength to embody empowered Love.  Empowered Love will say no to another when saying yes is a continuance of disempowered, depleting dependency.  Are you ‘helping’ someone through guilt, obligation or a fear of saying no?  When you cut the cord from an energy vampire, they usually aren’t happy at first.  But it’s the only way for both of you to have an opportunity for personal strength.  You don’t get to decide if they acquire it or not.

Sometimes its not so ‘offensive’ as an energy vampire.  Through love you unconsciously agree to help others, especially as your past lives as a shaman become accessible, which is occurring naturally through the Ascension of humanity.  In times past a shaman relieved the suffering of the tribe by taking on the energy of another and processing it for them through their own body/experience.  While of course this wasn’t the only thing a shaman did, it was a necessary step given the evolution and vibration of humanity in general.  We’ve evolved beyond that.  I remember doing energy healing sessions in the mid 2000’s and noticing that the physical healings were not sticking like they used to!  When I asked my Guides why the issues were coming back, I was told that humanity had moved to another level of personal responsibility and that empowerment had to be part of every session.

March feels a bit like a new level of empowerment, and it is framed through a new strength.  During the Light Language transmission for the month, I sensed a loving and strong Divine Masculine energy.  As we each embody a balanced Divine Masculine and Feminine energy, we are becoming whole and powerful.  The kind of wholeness that doesn’t need to separate from others and the kind of power that doesn’t need to suppress another or the self.  In the channeled Weekly Lightblast, you’ll see it start with a big dose of Self Love – what Areon calls your most powerful flow of creativity.  We often don’t realize how we aren’t loving the self.  We may rationalize (rational lies) how we are striving for improvement, teaching ourselves not to repeat past mistakes or protecting the self by not allowing complacency.  The truth of Self Love is an ease, peace and creativity that creates a grand momentum in Life!

Ride the Waves

March has quite a potential for change and is; as Life always is, calling you to a new level – a new strength.  Observe the internal momentum of your thoughts and feelings and shift your focus to the direction of more positive flow.  Time to rest or play?  Make the effort to find a new perspective and go with that flow.  You have a grand opportunity for change and an even grander opportunity to focus your natural faculties (thoughts and feelings) into a new creation.  A new you.  A new experience of Life.  A new vibration rippling out and waking others up as well.  It’s time!

Highlighted Aspects:

MON: Venus enters Libra; TUE: Jupiter semisquare Venus; FRI: Neptune quincunx Venus; SAT: Pluto square Sun, Saturn semisquare Venus, Chiron square Mars, Mercury stations retrograde 10:02am PDT, Uranus trine Mars; SUN: Saturn conjunct Ceres

I BELIEVE
the phrase "comes in like a lion" usually is meant to describe the weather in March -- but I think those words are going to apply equally to our experience of October's energies this year. Starting on Wednesday, the very first day of the month, the First Quarter Moon sets off the ongoing Pluto-Uranus square, triggering another round of profound changes for many of us.

Since we are working with a waxing Moon, situations that come into our awareness midweek may build over the days that follow, as the Moon grows into fullness. Some issues may reach a crescendo during Saturday's exact Pluto-Sun square, when we are challenged to come to a new level of self-awareness. With the Sun in relationship-oriented Libra, this aspect requires that we look more closely at the balance of power in our partnerships, both personal and professional.

An honest self-appraisal can help us see how we have contributed to any imbalance. As a result, we gain a more empowered self-concept. In so doing, we will be able let go of the power struggles that have been based in seeing ourselves as victims or less-than.

BREAKTHROUGHS -- or breakdowns, depending on what each of us needs to open the doors to a more liberated future -- are more likely to occur early next week when Uranus becomes more fully involved in the planetary interactions. On Tuesday, October 7, Uranus opposes the Sun; and on Wednesday, October 8, Uranus aligns with the Moon during the Total Lunar Eclipse.

More about that eclipse in next week's Journal, of course. I mention it now because it may be helpful to observe this week's events as part of a larger process in our development. We also will most likely not be able to separate this week from next week energetically, once we get rolling.

SATURDAY is the most highly-energized day of the coming week. Exact that day are the aforementioned Pluto-Sun square, a Chiron-Mars square, and a Uranus-Mars trine -- not to mention that Saturday is also the day Mercury goes retrograde!

(By the way, taking all that into account, it would be a very good idea to back up computers sooner rather than later this week...)

It is always interesting to have one planet involved in two very different aspects on the same day. In this case, Mars forms a strong opportunistic trine with Uranus and a strong challenging square with Chiron, both on Saturday. The two aspects form bookends on the day, with the Chiron-Mars square at 7:16am PDT and the Uranus-Mars trine at 9:18pm PDT.

MARS represents the principles of Action and Desire. Whenever the red planet is involved in aspects, we can expect issues to be more energized and to raise stronger feelings than at other times.

With a square or other challenging aspect, Mars often prompts a "fight or flight" response. With the square with Chiron Saturday morning, attempts to display compassion or to rescue may be met with judgment or ridicule, resulting in hurt feelings or even igniting anger.

How we then utilize the positive potentials of the Uranus-Mars trine Saturday evening depends a lot on how we have chosen to react earlier in the day. The more we've dug in our heels and justified our actions (Mars in Sagittarius), the harder it will be to soften our stance just 12 hours later and take advantage of the inspired ideas that may present themselves as alternatives to going down the old rutted roads of discord.

GOING BACK to that old saying about March -- you may be wondering if October will "go out like a lamb." At first glance, the answer might be "no," given that we have a Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Scorpio on October 23 and Mercury is retrograde until October 25.

But a closer look gives us a bit of hope -- if not for a lamb, at least for a lion cub instead of a roaring lion.

The Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on the 23rd occurs when the Sun and Moon are aligned with Venus and Pallas Athene, and all four are trine Neptune. This configuration represents heightened compassion, intuition, and imagination, and supports healing on deep levels, especially through the use of sound and color.

And, it is also helpful that the Lunar Eclipse comes first in our pair of October eclipses. This means we gain insights and do our release work first, which then clears the way for important new beginnings to unfold. Something to plan for and look forward to!

PS: A reader wrote to me asking for the complete consciousness scale I referenced in last week's Journal. I've posted that list, taken from David R. Hawkins' book Power vs. Force, on my blog for those who are interested:  http://northpointastrology.blogspot.com/

Blessings,
