Whew, there is some heavy energy shifting right now. And I saw that we have X+ class solar flares that are 'off the charts'. I think they're going to have to add another level to account for this intensity if we have any more of these. If you have been feeling more than usual levels of emotion and anxiety, it is part of the energy that is engulfing us now and it's quite intense. I have noticed that I have been very tired with insomnia, so I have trouble sleeping, which is rare for me. I have also lost my appetite and eat very little, as well as have been needing to be grounded in my own energy lately, another aspect of the level and intensity of clearing that we are undergoing. It's hard to find any type of balance in times like this, so do the best you can. I'll be holding another New Earth Energy call in a few days, watch your email for that announcement.
This intense energy is bringing up another issue for many, regarding obligations and commitments that are becoming burdensome, limiting, and questionable. Why is it happening now? Because karmic cycles, soul contracts, karmic obligations and attempts at atonement are all coming up for review and release. Review as to their relevance and the true nature of these obligations and release, in light of the creation of new life intentions. That is the topic of today's Q&A message:

"Dear Jennifer: I am struggling to meet the financial obligations I have taken on for my family. Recently, I bought a duplex to share with my daughter and her children, and paid most of the mortgage. Then I moved out and let my ex-husband and son move in, and I help them with their payments. As I now have less income, I cannot afford to support their living expenses and pay my own. I told my daughter I would have to sell the duplex and I am broken hearted. What is wrong with me that I have this overwhelming need to provide all of them with housing? Am I overcompensating for the parents who never provided for me? I can no longer live this way, emotionally or financially, but I also don’t know if I can live with the guilt if I cannot help them in this way.
Jennifer’s Answer: This is a tough situation and I hope that you can see the karma you have with the members of your family. At some point you have promised to take care of and provide for them, from a deep soul wound in which you once held yourself responsible for their care and either could not or would not do it. Since we carry these over into future lifetimes, you are now faced with two choices, continue to support them or let them support themselves. Neither choice is bad or wrong, it is simply a matter of acting from a point of forgiveness and detachment, or from fear and guilt.
Since our parents and family create the pathway for the fulfillment of our karma, your parents’ lack of support simply reminded you of this soul lesson and let you experience what it felt like to be on the receiving end of that situation. You had two choices, to continue to feel guilty or to heal from this pain and free yourself of these obligations. Until now, you have chosen the path of guilt but, as you are realizing, it is a heavy burden for you to bear, financially and emotionally, and you have to make a choice. Because you want to release this burden you feel that you are being backed into a corner and it’s breaking your heart because you are afraid of what will happen to them if you do not support them.
You have also, within the scope of this soul contract, taken responsibility for what they do with their lives, and whether they succeed in living a happy, productive, and fulfilling life or not. You think that if you do not support them, that something bad will happen to them. But you do not have any control over the outcomes they create and, in spite of your help, they will make the most powerful choices that they are capable of. One of their obligations in this karmic cycle is to learn to take care of themselves but they are not going to do that until you let go of the obligations you are trying to fulfill. It’s a destructive cycle that is going to get harder before it gets easier because in order for it to end you have to let go.
The people in our lives, who are members of our soul group and who share karma with us, have to hold the energetic space for us to heal the karma. So your daughter and the others who you are providing for have no choice but to let you support them, until you decide you no longer want to do that. Letting go of this responsibility does not mean that you reject them. Instead, you can do it by acknowledging that they are and can be more powerful in their lives, then letting them do that by no longer seeing them as powerless. And you have to also forgive yourself for whatever you think you have done, in this lifetime and in others, to hurt them in any way.
Soul contracts and karmic cycles are complicated, with strong emotional energy, and their healing and release always require that we let go of a belief that we are responsible for someone else’s misery and pain. While we could be in one way, in another, everyone creates their own reality and is responsible for their own life. As soon as you set yourself free you allow them to be free of this cycle and all of you can move on into more joyful, fulfilling, guilt- and fear-free living.
