So, for today . . .


Many years ago, I stopped questioning the significance of music that pops in my mind and invades and permeates my soul for a time. If it is there, then there is a reason. And it is up to me to figure it out.


That is what I was working on last night when America by Simon and Garfunkel found its way in. And how it happened I do not know. I was cleaning up around the house, and it was there. Was it playing in the background? On TV? A commercial? Or did I just hear a note or 2. And even more interesting about it was that I did not know the name of the song. Just a tune and a lyric. A short Youtube search found the song.


Now here is where the questions start. I also googled the lyrics to see what the song was about. It spoke of personal journeys of people here in America; places, dreams, plans. . . And could not feel any resonation. Just the chorus

Lyrics are often hard to understand. Like most poetry. I for one, have never understood a single thing coming from the mouth and mind of Bob Dylan. Many people I know rave about his work. I tend to chalk it up to me not smoking enough pot while listening.


But as I listened to America on the evening of Beltane, it reminded me of my home country; here in America. I have seen many parts of it. I was fortunate to live in California for the first 23 years of my life and think it offers a little bit of pretty much everything this earth has to offer. And my heart carries a piece of each of them. There is the desert, the Beaches, the Mountains and the forests. The beauty of the desert is not understood by most. The beach offers some of the most amazing views and swimming locations, where I learned firsthand about the currents and tides we experience every day on Earth. Its mountains hold the most beautiful spot on this earth IMHO: Yosemite. A few years ago I had the opportunity to return to California and drive up the North coast to see the Redwoods once again. Such amazing deep roots and lofty heights.


So, in the song America, I connected with my homeland and the places I feel the closest connection to planet earth. And for me, an explanation as to why the song was speaking to me.


I have much more to say about music and how it talks to us, and will be sharing more.

The Moon has moved into Gemini, ushering a weekend of the Moon transiting opposite of the Black Moon (Black Moon days).  The astrological Kp index, so to speak, will be a bit higher ("Ka index"?).  This means shadow sides and people's core fears can be more easily triggered.  Issues related to meaninglessness, futility, rejection, disapproval, and disappointment can ensue.  This would be the trap or the "play."  The non-local field around us can erupt and cause people to project their own feelings about themselves (and their fears) onto others.  The ultimate outcome of these situations is that something is brought to light or birthed or rebirthed.  The opportunity for growth occurs.

This is most prominent this weekend for those with the Sun, Chiron, or Black Moon in Gemini or Sagittarius (as the Black Moon is transiting Sagittarius, engaging the Gemini-Sagittarius polarity).  Understand that you are undergoing a rebirth process and de-personalize it (your feelings) as much as possible.  Go into nature and release the birthing pains.  Remember also that Crescent Moon phases are the most "challenging" for us, tempting us to struggle.  Release the struggle.

Catalysts for Change: trendiness, feeling restricted, miscommunication, barriers, seeking the approval or validation of others, racism, conformity, boredom


Sabian Symbol for the Lunar Month: "a crowded public marketplace" (human interchange and exchange; displays of who we truly are and what we have to offer)


This weekend in the "crowded public marketplace" of the collective consciousness of humanity, sparkly things are on display, children play together, and people are laughing.


Another view of things shows that so much is happening that it is creating congestion, confusion, impatience, and even panic in some places.


There is a tremendous amount of dynamic energy that is fueling situations this weekend.  Venus and Mars will make conjunction, putting relationships in focus.  This will bring extra power to be objective about relationships and to see if values are aligned.  If people are no longer in energetic resonance (if their levels of consciousness are not in similar range), it will become apparent.


Under this conjunction of Venus and Mars, we also gain objectivity about the inner relationship - our relationship with our self.  We see where we need to lighten up on ourselves.  We see symbols of the past, present, and future.  Truer self-expression follows lightening up.  From here we can jump to anything.  This weekend's energy wants us to jump toward or link or connect to how we want to make a deep impression - a mark.  And this will then come full circle back to what we value.
Humor is a great value.  An assault on humor has been underway in force for thousands of years, but it is "loaded in" to the collective in force this weekend.


Creativity is also a great value.  An assault on uniqueness has also been underway for a long time, but it is loaded in to the collective via controlled display this weekend.  Mercury (how we think) will be at the degree of "beautifully gowned wax figures on display."  Beautiful gowns will be on display in Los Angeles on Sunday with the Academy Awards (a completely controlled non-contest) but the figures on display aren't all wax.  Hollywood is awake and will begin to lean more and more toward the alternative, independent, unique, and authentic.  It is already weaving truth into the mass dream.
Anytime there are sparkly things on display within the collective, it is an effective distraction.  We should be mindful of what the other hand is doing while one hand is putting on a show.  Usually we are robbed.


It takes a strong level of consciousness to find humor, creativity, and lightness of being any time the Moon moves to the Crescent phase.  We are challenged to not give up our heart's desires, our plans, and our intentions.  But wise owls see through the program, and step back to reconnect with the values of life through connecting with something greater than ourselves.  Something greater than ourselves is all around us, manifested through nature.  It is truly beautifully-gowned and it is on display and available all the time.

This weekend, we are asked to "post up."


In basketball terms, posting up is turning a certain way so that you can establish a position to receive a pass of the ball.  The Universe asks us to post up and claim our spot so that we can receive spiritual guidance.


This comes as part of the lunar month where we are projecting our plans, ideas, wishes, and selves into the future.  We envision the construct of what that looks like.


 A major component of the construction comes from a foundation, an undercurrent, of our inner wisdom.  Inner wisdom is divinely directed.  As we establish "adobe missions" in the future - outposts where we will arrive later in time, we are reinforcing the structure now with inspiration from Spirit.  This weekend we are posting up to reinforce our outposts.


Old adobe missions are spiritual retreats.  Other names for old adobe missions and spiritual retreats are temples, medicine wheels, churches, groves, schools, farms, vineyards, mountains, beaches, theatres, museums, studios.  What is yours?


It is a good idea this weekend to spend some time in whatever place or space is spiritual for you.  Spirit is sending key insights into matters.  The energy naturally places us in alignment for inner wisdom.  There is a lot happening for our inner contemplation; complex sets of dynamics are in effect.  Here are the highlights:


    Relationships, particularly romantic relationships, are undergoing revision, restructuring, and reassessment.  Changes occur this weekend to bring things to better states.


    Mercury retrograde is acting as a muse, inspiring us with ideas and actions.  The energy is design-oriented and functional.  Mental architecture takes place.


    New things are being built from the past.  All kinds of things are repurposed or even fully restored.  On Saturday, our experiences from the Leo 2014 lunar cycle (July 26 - August 25,  2014) return for a visit and reconsideration.  On Sunday, our experiences from the Pisces 2014 lunar cycle (March 1 - March 29, 2014) follow suit.  Consider all of this in context and look at how those experiences have enabled you to claim more of your power and become who you are today.  (Another element of this energy is a heightened ability to connect with our ancestors.)


    Leaps of faith, discussed at the New Moon of this cycle, may be necessary because the energy shifts quite palpably this weekend.  The Moon catapults into Aries after an energetic journey through shadow lands over the last two days, which is a definite shift.  But both Saturn and Pluto move to new degrees this weekend.  Saturn moves away from energy for strategizing and toward energy that takes us to higher levels.  Pluto moves away from energy for permanent structures and toward energy to heal and raise the spirits of people, particularly children.  (Heads up: The Wisdom Goddess Matangi is getting ready to roll through on those who prey on the weak, disadvantaged, and marginalized.  Whereas the goddess Dhuamavati "sweeps" through the field, Matangi razes it.)

Today, the Sun moves to the degree of "a Hindu healer."  How about we all go forth today with a powerhouse wave of love?


The planets favor it, and there is extra help from Uranus.  Readers who have been following the Oracle Report since last spring know that Uranus has been the main player in the energy and events of the last year.  Today we bid farewell to the energy of Uranus at "a bomb which failed to explode has been safely concealed."  Uranus will not return to this degree in our lifetimes.  The bomb has finally been safely concealed.


Until the hour of the next New Moon (February 18, 2015), Uranus will be disseminating the energy associated with "a serpent coiling near a man and a woman."  Kundalini rising is implied with this symbol, and it is reinforced by the fact that it is Uranus, which rules kundalini and all things electric.  Uranus also rules changes - sudden, shocking, life-altering changes.  This energy attracts, allures, and entices, but it also tends to attract people, places, and things that can obstruct or build a wedge in relationships.  All of this serves to put things into proper order.  Uranus aligns and sets things right.  Serpents bring wisdom.  We will be the better for it by the time the Moon is renewed.  We will have found new ways to relate.


The Moon continues to move through Pisces, activating everyone's shadow sides.  This is in effect until tomorrow morning, Saturday, January 24, around 8:30 am ET/1:30 pm UT.  It is best to keep a gauge on emotional reactions, especially if you are a Virgo or Pisces or have the Black Moon in Virgo or Pisces (see the appendix of my book on the Black Moon available for free download at www.oraclereport.com to determine the sign of your own Black Moon).


On "Black Moon days," as I call them, if we are under stress or if our astrology chart is being activated, we default to projecting our own thoughts and feelings onto others.  We project onto others that which we cannot face in ourselves.  Be aware that energetic triggers are in place to help us integrate the parts of us that are fragmented.  The Black Moon aims for wholeness and takes full advantage of her opportunities.  The Black Moon is the Queen of the Underworld, and she often takes us down to the bare bones to enlighten us.  Be gentle with yourself if she takes you into her realm.  Remember that you are much more than your emotions.


There is the tendency today to over-do things, which is the quintessential issue with the Black Moon in Virgo (the current location of the Black Moon).  In fact, we tend to "way" over-do things today.  This comes about quickly when a competitive element kicks in.  Competition with oneself is the preferred match for the Black Moon in Virgo.  It staves off feelings of incompetence, incapability, and not measuring up because of some nebulous, inherent flaw.  This flaw is unidentifiable because it does not exist.  It is a shadow.  So we will see through the screens that have us feeling like we cannot do, have, or build what we want.  We are qualified for life by virtue of being here.


It may be helpful today to keep in mind that there is nothing to prove.  Nothing has to be put on display to impress or draw attention.  Bragging about successes, achievements and conquests really turns people off today.  It backfires.  Don't engage that battle.


This is the wisdom needed to go forth today in a powerhouse wave of love.  As the Parliament of Owls, we focus our intent and send it out to the world with a great big bow around it.

As the Black Moon spends her last day in the sign of Leo, the changes that she has delivered over the last nine months come into perspective.


The mission of the Black Moon in Leo has been to break up stagnancy at the personal and global levels.  Situations, circumstances, systems, and routines that were a hindrance have changed.  Some of these changes came about abruptly.  All of them landed us in new territory.


Today we have an inner motivation for change.  Pluto moves to the 13th degree of Capricorn and the Sabian symbol of "a fire worshipper meditates on the ultimate realities of existence."  Pluto will remain at this degree through December 27th, bringing the energy for highly focusing our personal resources - our energy.  This is also one of the degrees of the zodiac that prompts kundalini experiences.


Those with the Sun or Black Moon in Leo or Aquarius begin to experience what comes at the end of a Black Moon transit: rebirth.  The long process of intense self-reflection and integration of changes comes to an end and a revitalized version of ourselves begins to emerge.  This is the time that is like the phoenix rising from ashes and beginning its ascent.  An ascension in consciousness is delivered at the end of the Black Moon's transits.  Light returns.


Today we may need to refer to older books or information for guidance or assistance with deeper issues.  The message we need is found in sources that have age-old wisdom.  These are tried and true, trusted sources.


Also today, something from the past may cross our paths once again.  A feeling of exposure or vulnerability may come about because something from the past is revealed.  Has something been freed with this?  Has something been brought back to life?


As the shadow of the Black Moon in Leo clears, changes to the old order and structure of things become clearer, too.  We see a new reality emerging.


It is, quite possibly, an ultimate reality.
