For the Sun – 25 Scorpio - “Indians Making Camp in a New Territory” – When you find yourself in a new place, you need to be able to quickly acclimatize yourself to the new environment. You need to settle in. When you read the “Indian” image, are you seeing an old time western with “savages” in camp, or is it more like the sweeping vistas from Dances with Wolves? How ever you see it, the energy is the same. Now that you have gotten to camp, now you must make it your home. Are you out looking for water? Setting up the stable? Putting up and tending the home hearths? Or looking for food?

I am feeling this symbol this morning as we are resettling our home after a new baby arrived last night. We must get things ready and make him comfortable. And prepare ourselves to get to know him.

For the Earth – 25 Taurus - “A Spaniard Serenading his Senorita.” – How do you use your voice? Is it words? Singing? Poetry? Using your voice, you can affect others; sway them one way or another. And when you add passion and feeling, the message gains so much more. Using your voice to affect people can also be an art. Some are naturally born to it. Others may need to develop the skill over time. If I go out and sing to the world outside, I might expect alley cats to screech. But my daughter would sing a song that would melt their hearts. Find your voice today.

Higher Expression: choices or alternatives, seeing commonality, birth of ideas, hopes and wishes

Lower Expression: comparing to others, splitting, out of balance

Higher Expression: seeing patterns and symbols, information about course or direction, portents of the future

Lower Expression: lack of trust in self and intuition, hopeless, unable to accept the truth or reality

Mars has moved into Leo, preparing the way for the New Moon on Sunday as it discharges the energetic of the New Moon, "under emotional stress, blood rushes to a man's head." It is extra-important today to not be resistant or inflexible. Essentially, with this energetic we have to slow down and "go with the flow" to avoid a head rush (and other headaches).

This comes today on a Black Moon Day. Recall from yesterday's report with a few additions:

The Moon has entered Gemini, transiting opposite the Black Moon in Sagittarius. This makes the next couple of days what I call "Black Moon Days" -- the twice monthly opportunity we have to make friends with our "shadow sides" and birth a new version of ourselves. Though Black Moon Days always bring us to a more enlightened place, the wisdom is often hard-earned. We tend to project our shadow sides (what we fear we lack in ourselves) onto others. People's tempers can become heated, and what one feels about oneself is mirrored in what one accuses another of being or doing.

Those with the Sun, Chiron, or Black Moon in Gemini or Sagittarius are experiencing the rebirthing effects of the Black Moon more sharply than the rest of us. Remember that a newer version of you is being created from the old you that is falling away (or purging or burning away). This process will end in early November. It is a temporary, but highly potent time -- one of the most transformative of your life.

The often-forgotten part of Black Moon transits is that they bring great blessings. This is even stronger when Venus becomes involved, as it is right now. The Moon will conjunct Venus at 7:38 am ET/11:38 am UT and Venus will make exact opposition with the Black Moon at 1:19 pm ET/5:19 pm UT. When Venus and the Black Moon combine, relationships come under focus. When the Moon is in Gemini, the relationship with OURSELVES undergoes revision.

Core issues of rejection, acceptance, approval, meaninglessness, truth, and lies are in effect for the next two days. The objective is self-approval, self-acceptance, and the search for meaning. This is where we aim.

Things will progressively "fire up" as the New Moon approaches. Since Mars, which rules our energy, will be in close range (conjunction) with the New Moon, it will energize things throughout the next month. Let's identify or get ahold of any angry feelings (feelings of personal failure or disappointment or loss) now and release them during this Balsamic Moon phase before the New Moon phase begins. This will set us up in a much better place for the upcoming month. Today's energy of the "twins being weighed" tells us to balance out.

One of the reasons I have not been posting much is that I went twice for long days to see the Tall Ships arrive and depart, but due to working so much, was unable to actually visit the ships and tour them. I do love to take voluminous quantities of photos, which I post on FB and Instagram. I also was interviewing and started a new job. For the Sun: Out with the old and in with the new. This speaks of a turning point. It is more than just a change, like changing your underwear. You’ve got a new pack. Throw out those old holey things. And maybe those old ones were briefs – and the new ones are boxers (sorry for all of you who are not guys, but you get the point). Something that was once useful or valuable has come to an end and something brand new is emerging. You are changing your allegiance. Let it go and take up the new. Embrace it and the new normal.

For the Earth: Stand tall. Be in charge. Command respect. These speak to the symbol of the Indian Chief. They speak of a time when this is necessary. Leadership is needed. But there may be questions about your ability and whether it is your time. This is where the Stand Tall comes into play. Stake your claim. And remember. You are doing it in crisp, new boxers now :-)

From the Oracle Report Archives: We enter the fluid and dreamy Balsamic phase of the Moon today. It is the last of the eight phases of the Moon, and it exists outside time and space to some degree because it is a transition time. During Balsamic, we release anything that we what we do not want or need to carry with us into the impending lunar month. Cleansing waters of consciousness flood the field with breaking waves to refresh and renew.

The veils between the worlds are thinnest during Balsamic Moon phase. Spirit is breathtakingly close. It is a beautiful thing if we are able to let go of the controls. A higher power seeks to untangle us from restrictions so that we can begin anew with the New Moon.

And regarding the Sabian Symbols:

For the Sun: The mockingbird symbol is of the bird that tries to appear as something else. So, the symbol speaks of taking the best of something and making it better. The mockingbird takes sounds from other birds and combines them to create their own song. It is a question of whether it is a simple counterfeit copy or is it a unique creation. I am personally intrigued that the symbol for the first mockingbird of spring comes at 29 Gemini – the final day of spring.

For the Earth: The symbol of the fat boy mowing speaks of appearances and keeping things neat and tidy. The image of the fat boy is one who is comfortable and safe. He is helping to order and organize his world. He is helping-out. Is the energy about the appearances or is it about the superficial and insulated nature of his life?

So, for today . . .

Many years ago, I stopped questioning the significance of music that pops in my mind and invades and permeates my soul for a time. If it is there, then there is a reason. And it is up to me to figure it out.

That is what I was working on last night when America by Simon and Garfunkel found its way in. And how it happened I do not know. I was cleaning up around the house, and it was there. Was it playing in the background? On TV? A commercial? Or did I just hear a note or 2. And even more interesting about it was that I did not know the name of the song. Just a tune and a lyric. A short Youtube search found the song.

Now here is where the questions start. I also googled the lyrics to see what the song was about. It spoke of personal journeys of people here in America; places, dreams, plans. . . And could not feel any resonation. Just the chorus

Lyrics are often hard to understand. Like most poetry. I for one, have never understood a single thing coming from the mouth and mind of Bob Dylan. Many people I know rave about his work. I tend to chalk it up to me not smoking enough pot while listening.

But as I listened to America on the evening of Beltane, it reminded me of my home country; here in America. I have seen many parts of it. I was fortunate to live in California for the first 23 years of my life and think it offers a little bit of pretty much everything this earth has to offer. And my heart carries a piece of each of them. There is the desert, the Beaches, the Mountains and the forests. The beauty of the desert is not understood by most. The beach offers some of the most amazing views and swimming locations, where I learned firsthand about the currents and tides we experience every day on Earth. Its mountains hold the most beautiful spot on this earth IMHO: Yosemite. A few years ago I had the opportunity to return to California and drive up the North coast to see the Redwoods once again. Such amazing deep roots and lofty heights.

So, in the song America, I connected with my homeland and the places I feel the closest connection to planet earth. And for me, an explanation as to why the song was speaking to me.

I have much more to say about music and how it talks to us, and will be sharing more.

Today is Beltane, May 1. Ancient celebration of life and Spring. For people who celebrate the earth cycles, it is an important fertility holiday with rituals and celebrations together.

My friends at Astrocal sent this blessing that I liked and wanted to share:

Beltane is here and nature is bursting forth in all her glory.
Fertility is abundant and life is buzzing.
