American Indians see the eagle as a sacred messenger that carries prayers to the Creator and returns with gifts and visions.

Freedom is vital to the survival of the eagle and this teaches us that all people must be free to choose their own paths; to worship as the Creator leads them; and to respect the freedom of others.

The Eagle teaches how to master the art of patience and how to move through life without material attachments from their ability to sit for long hours perched on a limb in meditation.

Eagles have excellent hearing and can hunt as much by ear as by sight. To those to whom eagle comes, the ability to hear spiritually and psychically will awaken.

Eagles have sharp beaks and strong jaws that can remove a finger in one snap. The eagle tells us to mind our words and how they affects others; to speak kindly without sharp rancor.

Eagles are renowned for their superior vision, ten times greater than human eyesight. This quality is a gift of vision and clarity that should be used to help others through dark and troubling times.

The eagle is a creature of the air, but has strong legs to walk on the earth and often lives near the water for food. These qualities of the eagle teach us to maintain balance in all dimensions to achieve inner-growth. As we soar to spiritual awareness, we remain well grounded in reality as we purify ourselves with the cleansing waters.

The eagle teaches us to have the courage to strive for greater heights of spirituality. The Eagle is seen by American Indians as a connection to the Great Mystery - The Creator of all things.

Jenny Schiltz: Information to help us through the upcoming time period.

warrior-rising

Information to help us through the upcoming time period.
by Jenny Schiltz

Posted on

Yesterday I sat with the Equinox energies and felt this overwhelming need to journey. The purpose of my journey was to obtain information on what was needed to get us through the upcoming time period. I found some great drumming music, gave myself a full hour and let myself go.

I found myself walking to my familiar spot and I saw the woman I am familiar with that told me to simply call her grandmother, sitting around a huge fire. I sat on a rock around the fire and just then a warrior appeared and began dancing. He was dressed in full gear including leg wrappings. His performance was incredible and hypnotizing. He comes up to me and smears black on my face and tells me that I need to be a warrior. I protested and said “I don’t want to fight! I don’t like to fight!” he smiled and said that a true warrior does not need to resort to violence.

He told me that a true warrior is also a leader. That they listen to all sides and often choose not to respond, but simply observe. Warriors also trust their team. He looked at me and said “Do you trust your team?” The team he was referring to are my guides, the ones here in form on earth and the ones in the etheric. He was asking can I trust that I will always be provided for, cared for?  Can I trust my team regardless of what appears to be chaos all around me? He told me that this trust is vital to maintain my energy and vibration.

He also told me that warriors also have to have thick skin. That there will be those that want a reaction for the reaction sake and those that will judge when no reaction is given. That to be a warrior means being strong in your own conviction, your own strength and path.  Can I be my own warrior? Can I consistently do what it takes to honor who I am and my path?

He then had me stand and placed a hand on my solar plexus and said you have to be the eagle. Just then an eagle flew from my 3rd chakra, high into the air. I saw the eagle soaring, landing on a tree which held a nest so high above. He told me that eagles spend most of their time high above, only swooping down when it is necessary. They raise their young high in the sky because it is safer, in this realm they are protected. I then saw an eagle flying down to pick up food and it was hit by a car. He then explained that when an eagle go towards the ground, it is at its most vulnerable. That the safety is staying above. That I needed to be the eagle.

I then saw another guide walking up and he asked me if I was ready to be shown more. I said yes and followed him out of my familiar area into a clearing in a meadow. Before me was a ship. I looked at him and he asked if I was ready. I said yes and entered the ship and seated at a table was a beautiful blue being. She looked at me with so much love. She said “To move through the upcoming energies, all that people need to do is love.” She explained that while this sounds simple it is not always. I saw a news feed and saw article after article of riots, looting, shootings, and humans harming one another. That we need to look upon each person and simply say “I love you” no buts. Not “I love you, but I don’t like what you did”, just simply “I love you”.   No, not always easy to stay objective, non-judgmental, but it can be done. We can be the eagle and stay above.

She went on to explain that there are souls that have chosen to help with the mass awakening. That often as the catalyst they will participate in events that shock the human, impacting them in such a way that it alters perception, makes people question. She explained that it is both the perpetrator and the victim who are in service and both deserve to be told “I love you”. With emotions so high in my country with police brutality, racism and inequality it is easy to see why I would need to have thick skin. To say I love you to the officer that shot and I love you to the person gunned down is not going to be popular. To some this will look like I don’t care. Yet, I can see how these situations are making it so that emotions and fears that led to this state of affairs cannot longer be denied and for that they both deserve an ‘I love you’.  That each person needs to do their best to see the bigger picture and send love and gratitude. She also explained that a person’s heart cannot be changed by showing them where they are lacking. Instead, showing love without judgement, invites the person through a door way to self.

She asked that I share this message as it was not just for me.

I hope this message finds you well and flying high in the trees. Sending all of us lots of love! Thank you to all who share this work! It is so greatly appreciated.

Jenny

SCORPIO is the only sign of the zodiac that has multiple animal symbols -- the Scorpion, the Eagle, and the Phoenix. Each one represents a different facet of the Scorpio experience. Together, they provide guidance that is much needed when we must deal with life-changing events, such as those that have occurred since the Scorpio New Moon last Wednesday.

Two of these animals -- the Scorpion and the Eagle -- symbolize two very different ways of responding to our life experience.

THE SCORPION hides under rocks or in loose soil during the day, coming forth at night to hunt and feed. They have the ability to paralyze and poison their prey. When we emulate the Scorpion, we likewise tend to dwell in the darkness, to not be comfortable being in the light. We also may hold onto resentments and negativity, and our emotions can be laced with venom.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Eagle. The keen-sighted bird soars high in the sky, closer to the source of light than those who remain earth-bound. When we emulate the Eagle, we maintain a higher perspective. We are able to observe life's events, to see both the light and the shadow, but still stay aloft.

THE PHOENIX embodies the theme of transmutation, providing yet another piece of the Scorpio puzzle. Mythology tells us that at the end of its life, the Phoenix sets its own nest on fire. After the bird is consumed by the flames, a new Phoenix emerges from the ashes.

When we emulate the Phoenix, we embrace the process of transformation and recognize that a part of our earthly experience includes death. We allow ourselves to be consumed by the flames with the knowing that nothing is ever really lost, and that rebirth always follows what appears to be an ending.

THE SUN AND MERCURY are both completing their journeys through Scorpio this week. As the two align on Tuesday and then each form semisquare aspects with Pluto later in the week, we find ourselves in a time of mental adjustment as we come to terms with certain truths about the reality we live in.

When we must deal with issues of death and trauma, we have choices -- we can either become lost in the emotional mire of the Scorpion's nest, or we can strive for the heightened perceptions and perspective of the Eagle in flight. Most likely, we will seesaw between the two responses for a while, hopefully coming to rest in a place closer to the Light than we've been before.

NEPTUNE completes its five-month retrograde phase on Wednesday. Whenever a planet "stations" (comes to a standstill as it changes direction), we tend to be more aware of its influence than usual. Like all the planets, Neptune can have various effects, ranging from what we perceive as positive to what may be counterproductive.

In the positive, we may find our hearts filled with greater compassion this week. The veil between this reality and the other side may feel more permeable. We may feel more poetic, more musical, more creative. We may also experience greater heights in our meditations and spiritual practices, and be more able to access inner guidance.

On the other hand, we want to be very conscious of how we handle physical reality now, since this is not Neptune's forte. With the mystical planet's influence enhanced, we can be lost in a dream world, making this not a good time to make practical decisions. We are also very impressionable. We can be easily disillusioned or deceived if we get caught up in the vision of what we want to see instead of the reality of what may be occurring.

But, if we keep those cautions in mind, the strong Neptune energies this week can be of great benefit. They can provide the setting for both spiritual and creative enrichment. They can also help us open our hearts with greater sensitivity to those who are in need of our support and our understanding.

November 17 to 23, 2014 By Pam Younghans

SAVE THE DATE! I've just posted an announcement on my blogsite for my January 8 teleclass about the first six months of 2015. I'm calling the class "At the Door of a New Age," and here's the title page graphic:

The class will air live on Thursday, January 8 -- but if you can't attend on that day, your registration fee provides you with a recording of the class and access to the slideshow with monthly calendars. Read all about it at http://northpointastrology.blogspot.com/.

Now, on with this week's forecast:

Highlighted Aspects:
MON: Uranus quincunx Mercury, Chiron trine Mercury; TUE: Saturn conjunct Sun, Mars semisquare Venus, Pluto semisquare Sun; THU: Uranus sesquisquare Sun, Mars square Nodes, Neptune square Venus; FRI: Mars sextile Mercury, Neptune semisquare Mars; SAT: Sun enters Sagittarius, New Moon 4:32am PST, Jupiter square Mercury; SUN: Chiron stations direct

WE'RE WRAPPING UP some important lessons this week. On Tuesday, two days before our New Moon in Sagittarius, there is a Saturn-Sun alignment in Scorpio.

Saturn is never one to be frivolous. This is the planet that represents the concepts of responsibility, discipline, and patience. As Saturn transits each sign of the zodiac, we are called to embody new levels of maturity and realism related to the themes of that sign.

AS SATURN has journeyed through Scorpio for the past two years, it has required us to take responsibility for our deepest desires, our needs for control and power, and our motivations, compulsions, and addictions. And, since Scorpio rules the processes of death and rebirth, some have found their lessons to be in this area of the human experience, either literally or on psychological and emotional levels.

As the Sun and Saturn conjoin on Tuesday, we come face-to-face with some of the lessons noted in the paragraph above. This is an important opportunity for self-acceptance, as we see hidden or disowned aspects of our psyches reflected back to us by the people and events in our lives.

Once we have owned a truth about ourselves, we have a clear choice of next steps, based on the animals traditionally associated with Scorpio.

SCORPIO is the only sign of the zodiac that has two accepted animal symbols: the Scorpion and the Eagle (or Phoenix, in some traditions). This gives us important clues as to our options this week.

One option is to stay attached to an old definition of who we are, remaining in the darkness that has been uncovered. This would be the choice of the Scorpion, who hides under rocks and stings when revealed.

The other option is to choose the way of the Eagle, who flies high above the landscape. From its vantage point, the Eagle can see both the darkness and the light, but does not judge or cling to either. The Eagle represents clarity of vision and purpose, and shows us that the higher we go, the more we can release defining ourselves or others by choices of the past -- even the past of only yesterday.

THE CLEARING and release work that we do early in the week can enable us to begin the new lunar cycle with what feels like a much cleaner slate. Our New Moon on Saturday occurs less than three hours after the Sun enters Sagittarius, emphasizing the theme of opening anew to the adventure of life.

There are many different systems that assign symbolic images to each degree of the zodiac. I quote from the Sabian symbols quite a bit in this journal, but I also like other, more modern systems.

Astrologer Martin Goldsmith, in his book The Zodiac by Degrees, gives this image for the first degree of Sagittarius, where our New Moon is on Saturday:

"On a steep bluff, army veterans reminisce around a dying campfire while their leader surveys the countryside by the light of the rising sun."

The descriptive phrases for this image, which we can relate to the purposes of the lunar cycle that begins next weekend, includes:

"Looking toward new possibilities when an old trip is burnt out; setting clear goals that challenge one's best talents; figuring out which life battles really matter; ignoring unimportant problems and strengthening one's heart for the fight ahead; instigating collective action based on a clear vision of the future; cooperation and comradeship based on shared ideals; long-range plans and foresight; periodically reassessing one's progress toward grander goals."

THIS IS CERTAINLY a time to be looking forward rather than to the past. Pluto and Uranus have been doing a very good job of dismantling the old structures, so it is up to us to create new foundations for the future. With the Sun in Sagittarius until December 21, those foundations will be most successful if they are based on what we truly believe in, and what adds greater meaning to our lives.

One last note about this week -- Chiron stations direct next Sunday, so there is an added emphasis on healing now. Chiron in Pisces reveals where we hold fear instead of trust, and where we may choose self-sacrifice rather than unconditional love.

As Chiron is at a standstill this week, we are supported in embracing that wounded aspect of self, taking the fearful child into our hearts, to that place where only Trust, Love, and Healing can abide.

Blessings,

Pam
