"UP A LAZY RIVER" ... if
only we could just float serenely this week! With the
Jupiter-Neptune square perfecting next Sunday (June 16), that kind of
tranquility is exactly what we need right now, especially since
motivation to do practical tasks can be hard to come by.
We
might be feeling disillusioned right now, or be easily distracted, or
simply be longing for peace and calm amidst the dramas of life. Some may find that their faith is being sorely tested. Or,
we could be experiencing an odd sort of limbo, feeling between worlds
and not really able to connect with either realm. Another
manifestation of this Jupiter-Neptune square is difficulty being able to
tell fact from fiction. It's not a particularly good time to make
important decisions, or to blindly accept the truth of what we are told,
or to fall under the spell of the newest fad or the most glamorous
belief system or guru.
As we deal with the tension of the square, we learn to question long-held beliefs, and to ask questions—especially
when intuition is telling us that something doesn't feel quite right.
We are compelled to seek a new level of truth within us, learning to
rely on that inner knowing when all around us seems to
be smoke and mirrors. We are moving beyond wishful thinking, finding our
way into a new balance between idealism and realism, between faith and
discernment.
SETTING ASIDE
this Jupiter-Neptune influence for a moment, we're still looking at a
very busy week! The list of planetary aspects is lengthy, and so varied
in expression, it's hard to bring it all together in a meaningful way.
So, let's just look at some of the most compelling aspects:
ON MONDAY,
the Gemini Sun opposes Jupiter in Sagittarius, already having exactly
squared Neptune the day before. In essence, the Sun is activating the
energy of the Jupiter-Neptune square, increasing that spaciness and
inertia we've already been feeling. The three planets are also forming a
mutable T-square that is in effect for a few days,
which can increase mental confusion and a lack of willpower, especially
when we're under stress.
At
the same time, the Sun is also in hard aspect to both Saturn (on
Monday) and Uranus (on Tuesday). These aspects add both a seriousness
and a restlessness to the already complicated mix of energies.
STARTING MIDWEEK,
Mars moves into action. The Red Planet conjoins the North Node on
Wednesday, with the elevated purpose of helping us recalibrate our inner
magnetic compass so that it points toward our own True North—in other words, helping us align our personal
will with Divine Will.
The
Mars-Neptune trine that perfects on Thursday assists in this lofty
objective, softening the ego's need to figure it out, and increasing our
willingness to allow our intuition guide us.
Our
forward motion, however, catches the attention of Saturn, who has set
up camp with the South Node and is determined that we follow the old
rules and obey the voice of the powers-that-be in the "real world."
This draws battle lines between patterns of the past and our highest intentions going forward.
The Mars-Saturn opposition is just one of the challenges we face on Friday—we
also have hard aspects between Mars and Ceres, and Mars and Jupiter,
both of which bring up resistance from old mindsets and beliefs,
especially those that were (are) held by our families and ancestors.
NEXT SATURDAY,
Mars hands the baton to Mercury—the Messenger Planet is traveling just a
couple of degrees behind Mars, and over the course of the weekend, it
forms all of the same aspects Mars formed earlier in the week. The
process starts with Mercury's conjunction with
the Cancer North Node on Saturday. This alignment should help us focus
our minds and our intuition on those higher-path concerns, and enable us
to better align our minds with our hearts.
On
Sunday, Mercury is in harmonious trine aspect to Neptune, but also in
hard aspect to both Jupiter (quincunx) and Saturn (opposition). This
makes for very uncertain footing, as we're not sure whether to be
optimistic or pessimistic, and whether to trust our intuition or
question it. And, with the Jupiter-Neptune square also exact on Sunday, confusion and ambiguity are heightened.
Our
psychic and emotional sensitivity next Sunday is also elevated due to
the Full Moon, which perfects just after midnight (1:30 a.m. PDT on
Monday, June 17). As this lunation occurs, the Moon aligns with the
Galactic Center—a black hole that Paul O. Hewitt calls "a stunning
source of energy, motivation, and aspiration," and which has "other
worldly
psychological impact."
More on this profound New Moon in next week's Journal, of course!
