LEST WE THINK we've reached the finish line, the New Moon on Monday (Tuesday in some time zones) confirms that the new lunar cycle continues that we will be continuing the current flow of heightened emotions and unsettling events. The lunation occurs at 8:46 p.m. PDT on October 8, at 15°48′ Libra. At the time of the event, the Sun and the Moon are within one degree of being exactly square Pluto in Capricorn.

With this New Moon in the sign of The Scales and in challenging aspect to Pluto, we can surmise that our main challenge over the next two to four weeks will be to stay calm and in balance amidst upheaval. Power struggles and competition are typical Plutonian manifestations, and the pressure of the square aspect (when planets are 90 degrees apart) heightens our awareness of how bureaucratic manipulations (Pluto in Capricorn) can block true justice (Sun and Moon in Libra).

DWARF PLANET CERES, named for the Earth Mother goddess, is closely conjunct the Sun and Moon at the time of the New Moon. Ceres weaves themes of nurturing into the tapestry of the lunar cycle -- in particular, how we care for family and for ourselves, both physically and emotionally.

Like the Sun and Moon, Ceres is also in Libra and square Pluto. This means we need to be alert to the complications that can arise if we are trying to maintain superficial harmony, and avoiding the truth of a situation. When we ignore what we really feel and know to be true, it can result in low self-esteem, eating disorders, and other complexes.

To navigate this challenge, we must let go of our need for everyone to like us. Astrologer Demetra George, in her book Asteroid Goddesses, writes that with Ceres and Pluto in hard aspect, we must learn "that return and renewal follow letting go, that every death is followed by a birth, and that every loss is replenished by a gain. A real understanding of this truth permanently erases the fear of loss from one's subconscious mind and replaces it with trust, acceptance, and joy."

ADDING ANOTHER LAYER of intrigue to the upcoming lunar cycle, Venus is now moving backward in the sky. As planetary ruler of the Libra New Moon, Venus has influence over the new lunar cycle, and her condition and aspects are of extra import.

While Venus is retrograde in secretive Scorpio, she compels us to dive more deeply into the hidden realms of our psyches, to discover what we truly value and to gain clarity on issues of fairness and right relationship. The questions arise: Who can we trust, and who are our allies? Is there something we missed, that is vital to our next steps? What yet remains to be revealed? And can we be conscious enough to catch the glimmer of light in the darkness?

VENUS is also square Mars and Black Moon Lilith in the New Moon chart, exacerbating the tension between the feminine and masculine, and exposing new layers of the shadow self.

If you are unfamiliar with Lilith, Darkstar Astrology provides these insights:

"Dark Moon Lilith is the lunar apogee. It does not exist as a physical point in space, but is a point that describes the distance between the earth and the moon, the empty focus. Lilith is about the power, politics, and psychology of se(x)."

And from astrologer and writer Valerie Mesa:

"Black Moon Lilith represents a person’s primitive impulses and behavior in their rawest form. It reveals our repressed se(x)uality, together with what makes us feel most vulnerable; it expresses the dark side of one’s personality, buried deep in the subconscious realms of our psyche. "

Although mythology tends to paint Lilith in very dark tones, calling her "a night demon," Mesa also includes this uplifting observation:

"The story of Lilith has evolved tremendously in the past century; in much contemporary writing, she is no longer portrayed as an evil, child-eating deity but rather as a feminist icon who stood proudly against male domination."

ON A CLEARLY POSITIVE note, the New Moon is aligned with two dynamic fixed stars: Merga and R Carinae. Astrologer Roderick Kidston tells us that with these two stars:

"There is a sense of building organically on the past in order to grow towards the future, and to set sail towards it, too, if it is necessary to cut free and move on ... Perhaps above all, R Carinae gives courage: the brave spirit and self-belief to go forth on adventures and bring back whatever treasure you find."

It will be interesting to see how current events unfold under the influence of the new lunar cycle -- especially since the Taurus Full Moon two weeks hence (on October 24) is closely conjunct Uranus. Change is in the wings, awaiting its cue.

AS THE MOON slowly waxes this week, Mercury is once again centerstage, being involved in significant aspects every single day:
  • On Tuesday, Mercury forms challenging aspects with both Neptune and Chiron, raising doubts about the validity of the "facts." While information sources may indeed be untrustworthy, Mercury also enters Scorpio late in the day, invigorating our need to get to the heart of any matter.
  • On Wednesday, Mercury opposes Uranus -- a time for surprises, insights, and unexpected twists in the drama that is unfolding. This is also the day that Venus and Mars are exactly square, so watch for battle lines to be drawn and defended.
  • On Thursday, Mercury squares the karmic Nodes. The challenge here is to stay engaged (North Node in Leo), not to withdraw or become alienated (South Node in Aquarius) because of our suspicions about a deeper truth (Mercury in Scorpio). The Sun is exactly square Pluto today as well, heightening the urgency of the moment and bringing one of the promises of the New Moon chart into manifestation.
  • On Friday, Mercury is sextile Saturn -- an opportunity to cool down, find solutions, and get back on track.
REMINISCENT of last week, next weekend we have another slew of quintile aspects, each involving either Mercury or the Sun. As mentioned in last week's Journal, this family of aspects indicates a strong concentration of energy. This laser-like attention can manifest in creative ways, but also as the abuse of power.

Saturday's biquintile aspects involve Chiron and Neptune in Pisces, so we may find this a more confusing day, or a time when we find it difficult to capture in words exactly what we know in our hearts. On Sunday, a Mercury-Pluto quintile focuses our attention on the issue at hand, inspiring us to share our opinions with great fervor. The Sun is also quintile Saturn, bringing an objectivity that will come in handy amidst the drama.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: Your world has recently gone through a major transition. If your birth anniversary is Monday or Tuesday, you may still feel off-balance but are gradually coming to terms with your new self-definition. If your birthday falls Wednesday through Sunday, significant changes are still underway. Your current experiences will bring you to a stronger awareness of your deeper needs and what will bring greater fulfillment into your life. This is your hero's journey, perhaps one of the most significant phases of your life. You are discovering where you give your power away -- whether to another person, a situation, or your own emotional responses. As you claim back your power, your life is transformed.

In peace,

Pam

Black Moon in Pluto still in effect.

THE ORACLE REPORT: Wednesday, May 16, 2018

It has taken 1,964 years for the Black Moon and Pluto to come together again in the sky at 22 degrees of Capricorn and the energetic of the Sabian symbol "a general accepting defeat gracefully."
Tomorrow, it happens again.

Actually, the effects happen in the form of a wave, and have been building for about a month (since the New Moon in Aries/New Astrological Year on April 15, 2018).

So, in the midst of this New Moon phase that sees Uranus changing signs (!), we have this very historic conjunction of the Black Moon and Pluto.  Nothing less than a massive wave to end tyrannical systems and bring about systems of rebirth is upon us.
The goal is to maintain grace as the energetic brings individual shadow sides and the collective shadow side up from the hidden underworld and into the light of day.

Keep in mind that there are two levels to the energetics.  The lower octaves of these energetics include strong and impulsive reactions, blowing things out of proportion, jealousy, obsessive thinking, projection of one's own negative feelings onto another (especially a loved one), power and control issues, division, extremely high anger levels, false flags, dirty dealings, and rejection of love.
The higher octaves of these energetics include maturity, sober-mindedness, unity, uncovering and revealing, justice, balance, transcendence, commitment, regeneration and rejuvenation, justice, high tolerance levels, independence, transparency, and acceptance of love.
Last night, I went into great detail with Phoenix on the Black Moon and Pluto conjunctions in Capricorn through history.  This current conjunction of the Black Moon and Pluto brings revelations, resolution, and/or rectification with these themes:
  • Counting/controlling population
  • Split/unification of empires
  • the Maya and Aztecs, Guatemala, Yucatan
  • Kuwait, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan
  • Occult rituals
  • Missions and crusades
  • Coins and banking (I forgot to mention that a few days before the last conjunction of the Black Moon and Pluto, in 2009, the first block chain for Bitcoin was created.)
  • Australia
  • Germany
  • comets

We also discussed Uranus entering Taurus, and a little bit on the New Moon in Taurus cycle.  You can access the show while it is still in the public archive at:

The overview of the new cycle will be ready at the end of the week.  I have spent the last several days "in instruction" with the Mahavidyas, getting some information on some of the bigger questions I have had lately.  Please don't worry if I don't post every day.  It generally means I am learning something to pass along.

1,964 years.  We have waited a long time for this.  Renaissance, anyone?  Happy Black Moon - Pluto conjunction, wise owls!

Black Moon Lilith Conjuncting Pluto End of May & June 2018 ~ What type of justice are you receiving?

Hello Beautiful Souls ~ This ended up being a very intense reading.... please DO NOT take offense..... This may be happening to you, around you or from you... for good or for not so good.

"Black Moon Lilith activates those who have experienced injustice....Karma is being delivered... it is being brought in by those who have been coerced, manipulated, lied to, deceived, kept in the dark...whatever it is...they're getting this energy with them that says NO MORE. I'm not going to take this any more, I'm not going to give my loving energy to people that don't deserve it any more....Black Moon Lillith won't allow anyone to blame someone else about their own actions....They need to take accountability for what they do."

Love you all! ~B Outro : 40.20 Recorded 05-21-18 @ 1155 am

21st/22nd January – 11th February 2015: Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius: What Lies Beneath? By Sarah Varcas | Astro-Awakenings

Mercury retrograde in Aquarius, Mercury retrograde January 2015, identity, ego & essence, managing the mind, opening the heart  “Claiming the World” by Gary Rosenberg

21st/22nd January – 11th February 2015:

Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius: What Lies Beneath?
By Sarah Varcas | Astro-Awakenings

Mercury stations retrograde in the 18th degree of Aquarius at 3:48 pm GMT on 21st January, one day after the Aquarian New Moon. The Sabian Symbol for this degree speaks of unmasking to reveal true motive and intent. There is nowhere to hide as Mercury journeys retrograde in the coming weeks. Deceptions large and small will be revealed whether we like it or not, not to destroy those who perpetuate them (which we all do to some extent) but to provide a wake-up call which both course-corrects and realigns us with truth and authenticity. We will all have the opportunity to look ourselves in the eye and see who’s really looking back at us, before painting on the face we prefer to show the world.

The power of this Mercury retrograde cycle cannot be overestimated. Conjunct the Moon and opposing Black Moon Lilith and Jupiter in Leo, it resolves to pull no punches and take no prisoners. Nor would we want to be held captive, for the promise of this time is that of freedom from the constrictions that our own deceptions and inveiglements perpetuate. We are speaking here not of intricate scams executed to deceive but of the everyday twists and turns we undertake to avoid coming face to face with who and what we truly are. It is time to illuminate our inner world and look around with eyes wide open to all that we see. To recognise that the parts of ourselves we would prefer to avoid are as much who we are as the bits we readily embrace, but we may be so good at the game of pretend even we don’t realise we’re playing it!

Identity is an issue here: emotional investment in the person we perceive ourselves to be. It’s time to look at the labels we choose for ourselves and why they mean so much. Whether spiritual, political, religious or otherwise, we all adopt them and they can be useful to identify our allegiance in a complex world. But all too often these labels become an identity invested with increasing significance as time passes. How does it feel to drop them, to be label free and simply ourselves for a while? How does it feel to fade into the background, not defined as anything or anyone? How does it feel to drop even our own name and become a nobody: nameless, without identity or substance; empty of meaning?

It is just such an experience that labels and identities seek to avoid. Few things are more unsettling than the feeling of being completely pointless, of no significance to anyone or anything. Inconsequential. Everyone seeks purpose to give life and its ups and downs meaning. It is human nature to do so. But right now the cosmos seeks to blow all that apart so we can experience what lies beneath the ‘I am this, that or the other’ to discover the ‘I AM’ which sustains everything without fuss or fanfare. To embrace so fully our chosen identity we must necessarily cast a blind eye to that in us which doesn’t fit the image. Therein lies the most fundamental deception. In fact we are all things. No one is completely consistent within and without. It is the tension of paradox and the oftentimes absurdity of the human condition which propels us onward in life, seeking answers, meaning and wisdom sufficient to accommodate all that we are. On route we settle for less than authenticity and truth in an attempt to fit in, be acceptable to ourselves or others and garner a sense of meaning and purpose. We become alternative versions of ourselves at different points on the journey into wholeness, but ultimately peace lies at the point where we can be everything and nothing, simply alive and resonant with the energy which ebbs and flows through all things. To identify requires separation: ‘me over here being this and you over there being different’. To drop identification allows true connection beyond the false barriers we build between ourselves and others.

This retrograde passage of Mercury requires a willingness to be nothing in order to be all that we are. It exhorts us to release our most cherished identities, even for just a while, to experience what lies beneath. The more we emotionally invest in notions of ‘I am this type of person living this kind of life’ the more we are likely to trip over our own identity in the coming weeks, not because we are wilfully lying about who we are, but because we are inevitably so much more than any label can allow us to be. The radiant and universal heart is neither augmented nor diminished by identification. It simply cannot be defined in terms that satisfy the human mind so remains outside of our awareness as long as we unwittingly adopt and perpetuate identities which do. In the coming weeks we can step out of the need to be someone, into the sacred field which connects us with all things and renders separation non-existent. When life subsequently demands that we pick up identity again, as it will inevitably do, we can do so with less emotional investment, less energetic striving, secure in the knowing that any self perception is a pale reflection of the vastness of the divine which forms our very essence.

Enjoy this time of Mercury retrograde. Let your self fall away. You’ll be so much more alive for having done so.
