WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28 is the correct date of my upcoming "Choosing a Star" teleclass -- my apologies for the typo in last week's Journal! And thanks to everyone who wrote in to clarify.

That means just 10 days and counting before the class airs! I'm almost done with the calendars, which will go out in the next day or so to everyone who registers.

If you're interested in attending the class (either live or by replay), please see the information at the end of today's Journal, or just click here:

Now, on with the overview of the extremely busy week we have ahead!

IT'S HARD TO IMAGINE life getting any more complex than it's been of late, but looking at the loooong list of planetary aspects on the docket this week, we're well-advised to focus on simply putting one foot in front of the other.

Trying to figure out what we need to be doing tomorrow or the next day may just add to the overwhelm -- so here's the week divided up by the daily events to help us navigate one day at a time. I'll only talk about the most influential aspects, since otherwise you (and I) will be at this all day!

MONDAY: This can be a very creative day -- Uranus, bringer of insights, is aligned with Pallas Athene, the asteroid named for the goddess of Truth and Wisdom. Be open to divine ideas and sudden inspirations! This influence may also activate our desire to become active in social reform or revolutionary causes, especially since assertive Mars makes a dynamic quintile aspect with Uranus and Pallas.

However, we also have a Sun-Chiron square on Monday, with Venus at the midpoint of the square. This activates old wounds and fears about "who can I really trust?" These concerns may be on a personal level or on a larger scale. This configuration requires us to pause, and to take the time to acknowledge and care for the fearful child within who is afraid that she will never be really safe.

TUESDAY: Creative ideas and activity continue, with Mercury in positive relationship with Uranus and Pallas. Take some time today to write down what you've been thinking about, and the insights you've received.

And, be aware that voices of doubt may try to dissuade you from accepting your thoughts as valid or worthwhile. Mercury is square Chiron today, so our inner and outer critics know exactly how to open old wounds around trusting our own ideas.

This is also the day of the Solstice -- Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, Winter in the Southern. The Sun enters Cancer and begins the new season at 9:24pm PDT (4:24am GMT on Wednesday). The chart for the next three months ultimately looks supportive of deep change (Moon exactly trine Pluto). But to get there, we'll have to traverse a landscape of distrust and defensiveness (Sun/Mercury square Chiron). We'll also continue to see verbal battles and polarization of ideologies (Saturn in Sagittarius opposite Ceres/Mercury in Gemini).

WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: As Mercury conjoins the Sun in Cancer on Wednesday, our thoughts turn to home and family, and how best to create emotional fulfillment. A semisquare to Venus in Taurus indicates some minor obstacles arise, perhaps due to a lack of funds or a disagreement over values.

Thursday is the only "free" day of the week, with no major aspects in play. However, that doesn't mean we'll be sitting with nothing to do! At the very least, we can sort through everything that has come forward over the past few days, and clear our slates to be ready for the New Moon on Friday.

FRIDAY-SATURDAY: Mars in Cancer opposes the asteroid Juno on Friday and squares Jupiter on Saturday. This is the first phase of an energy wave that will grow over the next few weeks, leading up to the Mars-Pluto opposition on July 2 and the Mars-Uranus square on July 17.

That was a lot of astrologese -- in short, Mars is beginning to activate some very potent energies that can potentially disrupt alliances and transform old power structures. Many will be taking a very defensive posture and looking for ways to blame others for events.

FRIDAY'S NEW MOON occurs in Cancer at 7:30pm PDT (2:30am GMT on Saturday). The Sabian symbol for the lunation reads:

"A man bundled in fur leads a shaggy deer: The need to overcome stagnation and 'cold' during a trial of endurance."

What we will need to "endure" over the course of the coming lunar cycle is for each of us to contemplate -- but this interpretation from astrologer Dane Rudhyar may help us focus our intentions:

"In India, the deer was the symbol of Brahma, the Creative God. The antlers represent the extension of the mind-power located in the head. The new path may lead to cold regions, requiring insulation from harsh circumstances. The will leads the mind on toward the spiritual North of the soul.

"A period of trial is implied. The mind may seek to escape its limits by venturing forth toward an idealized goal -- the North Star, perhaps. This represents A Testing of the Will."

(I had not read this Sabian symbol before naming my upcoming class “Choosing a Star” – I love the synchronicity!)

SATURDAY: Two trine aspects today reassure us that necessary changes can occur without the world needing to completely fall apart first. The Venus-Pluto trine supports a deepening of relationships and an ability to focus on shared values as a way of finding common ground. The Saturn-Eris trine provides the strength and courage for us to stand our ground on important issues -- even when our stance is unpopular or meets with dissent.

The Mars-Jupiter square is exact today, so be aware that angers are easily triggered, especially when it seems that fairness and justice are not being served.

SUNDAY: Our mood today may depend on which side of the bed we happen to get up on. On one side is the Saturn-Ceres opposition, which manifests as a feeling of emotional lack based on not feeling heard or understood. This may be due to having too many outer responsibilities but feeling like it's not OK to ask for the help we need. The requirement of this aspect is that we put taking care of ourselves on the priority list -- which means we need to let go of the belief that says we have to be completely self-sufficient to be worthwhile.

Getting out of the other side of the bed, we step into the ease of the Mars-Neptune trine. This aspect represents the ability of the ego and the higher self to work in harmony to create emotional balance. Compassion is at the heart of this aspect -- compassion for self as well as for others.

So, really, no matter which side of the bed we roll out of on Sunday, the planets we meet want to teach us about love and understanding. And perhaps we need the challenge of the one side to propel us into the gift of the other.

JUST 10 DAYS until my teleclass! The title is "Choosing a Star," based on the profound spiritual choices we will be making, on both personal and planetary levels.

Think of this class as a 90-minute "NorthPoint Journal" that you can use to plan for and navigate the energies that will be working with us over the next six months. I'll start off with an overview of planetary influences for the remainder of 2017 and then spend a good portion of the time walking through the energies week-by-week.

The class will air live on Wednesday, June 28, and will be recorded for replay for those who cannot attend at that exact time. Here's the first part of the class description:

Choosing a Star
Astrological guidance for July through December 2017

Live Broadcast on Wednesday, June 28
4pm PDT | 5pm MDT | 6pm CDT | 7pm EDT | 11pm GMT

Most of us are aware of the upcoming “American Eclipse” in late August, a Total Eclipse of the Sun that will be visible in a 70-mile-wide path across the United States, from Oregon on the Pacific Ocean to the Carolinas on the Atlantic. This powerful eclipse occurs in the sign of Leo the Lion, activating inner courage and inspiration, and initiating creative action.

But many may not know that this pivotal eclipse is activating the influence of two fixed stars: Regulus, whose name comes from the Latin for “little king,” and Muhlifain, which means “the bright star of the oath” in old Arabic. This dual activation challenges us to make a personal vow as to our intentions going forward. We can commit to expressing the truly regal qualities of Leo the Lion– generosity of spirit, joy, openheartedness, and childlike appreciation. As we hold these energies, we are a part of creating the New Wave that will carry us into a deeper spiritual connection toward the end of the calendar year. On the other hand, if we waver in our daily commitment, it will be easy to be drawn into the drama, power struggles, and childishness characteristic of the lower end of the Leo spectrum.

In this teleclass, we’ll talk about the karmic implications of this Total Eclipse and the many other astrological events in the last half of 2017, and explore how they may impact us on personal and social levels. We’ll also walk week-by-week through each month to see the opportunities and challenges we will be working with collectively and individually.

Before the class, you will receive a pdf of calendars showing planetary aspects for the next six months, so you can print them ahead of time and take notes during class. After the class airs, everyone who registered will receive a link to the replay and access to the slideshow.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: This can be a year of new beginnings on many levels. You can tap into higher insights and ideas that will propel you to take steps in surprising directions. It will be important to stay fluid in your expectations, and to let go of attachments to old perceptions that might interfere with your ability to trust your knowing. Relax and let go of old defenses that only serve to limit your potentials. You have all you need within, and no one else can take that essential power from you.

In peace,

Pam
