THINGS GET INTERESTING this
week, as the Sun and Mercury travel side by side for several days. No
matter what sign these two planets are in when they conjoin, we can
expect increased mental activity and information
exchange. But that effect is magnified this week, as both planets will
move into intellectual Gemini on Tuesday, exactly aligning as they make
the sign shift.
In
general, our thinking process speeds up when Mercury is in the sign of
the Twins, and this week the Sun's influence will also be boosting the
mental energy. At times, it may feel a bit like we're watching a movie
in fast forward-- or moving that quickly ourselves. We'll need to
remember to slow it down, and to breathe, so that our nervous systems
don't get
overwrought.
The
benefits of this alignment include access to new ideas, and an enhanced
ability to share our thoughts with others -- as long as we speak slowly
enough for the listener to comprehend us. Plus, both Mercury and the
Sun will be in quintile aspect to Neptune, which augments intuitive
insights, as well as our capacity to read between the lines of whatever
is being
communicated.
THE SENSE
of excitement kicks up a notch on Wednesday when Mars and Uranus are in
sextile aspect. We're more willing than usual to take risks with this
influence, and may surprise ourselves with our capacity for change.
We'll
appreciate that the Moon is in conservative Capricorn on Wednesday,
helping make sure we don't go too far off the deep end. However, the
Moon will be aligning with Saturn (3:23 p.m. PDT) and with Pluto (8:58
p.m.), reminding us of some of the challenges we experienced back in
April, and requiring us to take a stronger stance emotionally.
THE STRESS BUILDS on
Thursday, with Mercury sesquiquadrate Saturn and Mars square Chiron. We
can be overwhelmed mentally, and need some down time. If we try to push
ourselves to live up to our own or others expectations, we're likely to
dredge up old insecurities, which will undercut our efforts.
All in all, this would be a good day to take a break from the action.
On
Friday, it may be hard to avoid confrontations, with Mercury
sesquiquadrate Pluto. It's hard to be tactful with this influence, and
words can cut like a knife. The more stubbornly we hold to our opinions,
and the more forcefully we try to explain ourselves, the more
resistance we can experience.
THERE'S AN ECHO
of Thursday's stress factor on Sunday, when the Sun makes its
sesquiquadrate to Saturn. Basically, we want to give ourselves -- and
our brains -- a rest. Whether we've been spending too much time on the
computer or working long hours on a project, or we are simply feeling
the pressure of
all the energy shifts planet Earth is experiencing, we need a break.
The
Moon, in the waning phase of its cycle through the end of the month,
reinforces the idea that this is a time for winding down. The better we
are at self-care now, the more prepared we will be to embrace new
beginnings at the time of the enthusiastic Gemini New Moon on June 3.
IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: You
are drawn to new ideas this year, and could literally take up a new
course of learning. Your
mind is stimulated, and there is a strong need for interesting
activities to satisfy your increased curiosity. This can be an
especially insightful time, although your ideas may be judged as not
being very practical -- either by others or by your own inner critic.
Take this opportunity to open your mind and to broaden your intellectual
resources. You may also be drawn to writing or speaking, especially
about your own personal journey. (Solar Return Sun conjunct Mercury, quintile
Neptune, sesquiquadrate Saturn)
In Gratitude and Light,
