Your guide to planetary energies for
July 15 to 21, 2024
By Astrologer Pam Younghans

Aspects of Note this Week
Times and dates are based on Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). Add 7 hours for Universal Time (UT), but add 8 hours for BST.
Monday: Mercury quincunx Saturn, Sun square Chiron, Mars conjunct Uranus
Tuesday: Mars sesquiquadrate Ceres
Wednesday: Sun square Eris, Jupiter quincunx Ceres
Thursday: Sun sextile Uranus, Mercury trine Chiron, Sun semisquare Jupiter
Friday: Uranus sesquiquadrate Ceres
Saturday: Mars sextile Neptune, Mars enters Gemini, Mercury trine Eris
Sunday: Full Moon, Eris stations retrograde, Venus sextile Jupiter, Mercury square Uranus, Sun trine Neptune, Mars trine Pluto\

A DYNAMIC WEEK: We are entering a highly impactful week, a time of major transitions. The third week of July is destined to be historical right from the start, with the explosive Mars-Uranus conjunction perfecting on Monday, July 15. Not to be outdone, the closing scenes of the week's dramas are under the direction of a transformational, Pluto-powered Full Moon that perfects on Sunday, July 21.

Surprising or shocking events can occur when there are interactions between forceful Mars, the planet of personal will, and sideways-spinning Uranus, the planet known for breaking rules. Since the energies of their alignment have been building over the past week or so, we've already seen its effects in the larger world and in smaller ways, too.

Putting together the keywords associated with Mars and Uranus, we can expect: surprising or impulsive actions, shocking events that require urgent response, explosive episodes, unpredictable or antisocial behaviors, unrealistic risks, radical or aggressive tendencies, strongly independent or rebellious activity, and emotional extremes.

There are positives potentials of this Mars-Uranus influence as well: a sudden breakthrough, daring to step out into the unknown, standing strong in one's independence, courageous authenticity, and the willingness to begin anew, without a safety net. And, since the higher expression of transpersonal Uranus is the Universal Mind, we may also receive profound insights and innovative ideas that inspire a significant change in our life path as the planet aligns with Mars.

THE ALGOL EFFECT: As you may recall from my forecast for last week, the Mars-Uranus alignment is occurring at the same degree as the fixed star Algol, and is thus energizing the star's influence. Unfortunately, the darker side of Algol, which ancient astrologers associated with misfortune, danger, and violence, has been activated in the past few days.

If you missed last week's issue of this NorthPoint Journal and would like to learn more about the fixed star Algol and its impact on the Mars-Uranus conjunction, please click HERE to read my forecast for July 8 to 14, 2024.

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN: We have two Full Moons in Capricorn this year, which occurs only rarely; the first was a month ago, on June 21, and the second is on July 21. As the Capricorn Moon opposes the Cancer Sun, we are challenged to be objective and rational, but also to be sensitive to the emotional needs of ourselves and others.

Next Sunday's Full Moon is outstanding for a few other reasons as well — most notably because the Moon will be very closely conjunct Pluto at the time of the lunation. Pluto is named for the god of the Underworld, and thus is the catalyst for major transitions in our lives, times when we move from one state of being to another. The dwarf planet often takes us through a symbolic process of death and renewal, similar to the experience of the mythical Phoenix, which magically regenerates after seeming to burn in the fires of purification.

As the Full Moon's energies begin to unfold toward the end of the coming week, we are drawn into a time of profound change. As the Detective planet, Pluto likes to reveal secrets, and as the Psychotherapist, it delves deeply into our psyches to uncover unconscious motivations and fears that have been controlling us from behind the scenes.

MAJOR CHANGES CATALYZED: Other aspects to the Full Moon will amplify our collective experience of its energies. Luna will be trine both Mars and Uranus, further activating the life-changing influence of their alignment. But, helping ease the way through providing inspiration and creative solutions, intuitive Neptune will be in harmonious sextile to the Moon.

However, the lunation will also be in hard square aspect to both insecure Chiron and to controversial Eris, which is very strong due to stationing retrograde on the same day. This arrangement of planets creates what is called a T-square configuration. T-squares correspond with times of increased tension and can result in irrational or impulsive behaviors in those who are especially affected.

As a general rule, Full Moons increase emotional reactivity, and this T-square will exacerbate those tendencies. It will be important to slow down, to be patient, and not to rush into decisions or actions. This T-square in cardinal signs will test our maturity, self-discipline, and self-awareness.

SOLAR ACTIVITY: The physical sun has recently been very active, giving us a major X-class solar flare (the highest level) and nine moderate M-class flares on Saturday, July 13. Solar flares are known to affect us on physical, mental, and emotional levels; having so many strong eruptions just as the highly nervous Mars-Uranus conjunction is reaching its peak can feel overwhelming for some.

Be sure to be very conscious in your self-care now. Drink extra fluids, especially electrolyte fluids. Stop to breathe more deeply whenever you sense tension or nervousness in your body. Spend time connecting with Nature in any way that you are able, and ground yourself into the earth. Meditate, rest, and get extra sleep if possible.

THIS WEEK'S ASPECTS: Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important planetary aspects, day by day:

Monday
Mercury quincunx Saturn: We can tend to be somewhat pessimistic, judgmental, or incommunicative with this influence.
Sun square Chiron: Deep-seated insecurities or fears can trigger anger or other strong reactions today.
Mars conjunct Uranus: The Mars-Uranus alignment perfects at 7:04 a.m. PDT, when both planets are at 26°19' Taurus. Events unfold quickly and we can feel carried along in a wave of change. People may be more reactive or impulsive than usual.

Tuesday
Mars sesquiquadrate Ceres: This aspect represents a conflict between the need to be self-assertive and the desire to feel secure and safe.

Wednesday
Sun square Eris: Controversies are stirred and people could react very defensively today.
Jupiter quincunx Ceres: Dogmatic beliefs and self-righteousness can undermine our ability to achieve longer-term goals.

Thursday
Sun sextile Uranus: It is easier to be independent and forthright today, since we feel less emotionally withdrawn.
Mercury trine Chiron: Communication and the willingness to brainstorm can open the door to finding creative solutions.
Sun semisquare Jupiter: There can be a tendency to be too wordy, or to go too far in trying to explain our feelings.

Friday
Uranus sesquiquadrate Ceres: Breakthroughs occur that unsettle us on an emotional level, causing short-term nervousness or anxiety. It may be hard to visualize new possibilities if we are overly attached to old forms.

Saturday
Mars sextile Neptune: It is easier to act on our intuitive insights today.
Mars enters Gemini: Mars will be in the sign of the Twins from July 20 to September 4. During these weeks, we are more open to new activities and ideas. However, we will need to be aware of times when we are spreading our energies too thin.
Mercury trine Eris: Forthright conversations bring insights and help us be open to new ideas.

Sunday
Full Moon: The lunation is at its peak at 3:16 a.m. PDT on July 21, when the Moon is at 29°08' Capricorn and the Sun is at the same degree of Cancer. With Luna in strong aspect to all three transpersonal planets (Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus), an increase in frequency is possible but will take some time to adjust to on a human level.
Eris stations retrograde: Controversies are at their peak with dwarf planet Eris at a standstill today.
Venus sextile Jupiter: This heart-opening aspect supports easy communications.
Mercury square Uranus: Nervous energy is heightened. Insights are possible, but it may be best to write them down to take action on later, when conditions are more stable.
Sun trine Neptune: This trine enhances our capacity for empathy and compassion.
Mars trine Pluto: We are determined to take action, especially in the support of a cause we feel passionate about.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: You may feel highly motivated to make significant changes in your life this year, and should have the courage, flexibility, and faith you need to "make it so." However, there are some obstacles to overcome, perhaps in the form of old patterns of insecurity or defensiveness. As you take responsibility for your reactions and learn to self-nurture, you are able to rise above these challenges. Over the next six months, you will be completing a two-year process of profound change that may have felt overwhelming at times, but which has been an important step in your becoming more empowered in some area of your life. This is especially true for those who have their birthdays next weekend, either July 20 or 21. (Solar Return Sun sextile Mars, semisquare Jupiter, square Chiron, sextile Uranus, trine Neptune, opposite Pluto, square Eris)

In peace, love, and gratitude,

Pam

A NEW YEAR BEGINS: Welcome to 2024! Based on the astrological influences, the coming year is going to provide us with a wide variety of life-changing experiences — ranging from major opportunities to significant challenges.

In my "Breakthroughs & Awakenings" webinar on Wednesday, January 10, I'll start with an overview of the entire year, including a graphic I've created showing the timeframes each important aspect is in effect. From the lineup of planets conjunct powerful Pluto in January-February, to a pivotal Total Solar Eclipse and the groundbreaking Jupiter-Uranus alignment in April, to the surprising Mars-Uranus conjunction in July, to the first Pisces eclipse in September, to impatient Mars opposing Pluto and then going retrograde in theatrical Leo at the end of the year, we're in for the adventure of a lifetime!

The rest of the webinar will focus on the planetary influences we'll be working with January through April, including that historic Jupiter-Uranus conjunction on April 20.
If you'd like to learn more, please see the full description on this page, or visit
https://PamJan-April2024.eventbrite.com

If you've already registered — I look forward to seeing you there! Please remember that all the information you'll need to attend, including the monthly calendars, will come from noreply@eventbrite.com

MONTH OF AQUARIUS: My next monthly astrology class, covering the Month of Aquarius (January 20-February 18), is set for Wednesday, January 17! The goals of this class are: 1) to go into more depth with the daily planetary aspects for the coming month; 2) to provide a short teaching and example of how transits work in our individual lives; and 3) to answer questions from attendees about their personal charts and transits. This last section is also instructional, since hearing about one person's experience with a specific planetary influence helps everyone understand their own transits, too.

DAILY ASPECTS: Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important planetary aspects:

Monday
Venus square Saturn: With Venus in easygoing Sagittarius now, we have an increased need to feel free of attachments and restrictions. But realistic Saturn is square Venus today, reminding us that a responsible life usually requires that we follow certain guidelines and even rules. This aspect offers a reality check and challenges us to assess how we feel about our commitments, whether to a relationship, to a creative endeavor, or to a financial investment.

Mercury stations direct: After being retrograde since December 13, Mercury now turns to face the future. As the Messenger Planet slowly begins to move forward and picks up speed over the coming days, it supports our likewise making progress on plans and projects that may have been stalled or on hold for the past three weeks.

Tuesday
No major aspects are exact today.

Wednesday
Venus quincunx Jupiter: Moderation is key with this aspect. While the desire to settle an issue and simply be done with it is strong today, we will need to be careful of making too grand a gesture — whether it be in an effort to reconcile a relationship or to break free from all restrictions.

Thursday
Mars enters Capricorn: While the god of War is in Capricorn, from January 4 to February 12, "slow and steady wins the race." In general, we tend to be more cautious in our actions and slower to respond in anger. However, Mars in ambitious Capricorn can also manifest in a heightened display of authority and a lack of sensitivity to the emotional needs of others.

Friday
No major aspects are exact today.

Saturday
Sun square Chiron: Feelings of insecurity may arise today, especially in situations that require us to take charge or to be in a position of leadership. Hostility that is expressed under this influence is often a mask for fear. It will be beneficial to pay attention to the truth of our feelings, rather than judging them or trying to hide them from ourselves. Once we become aware of the frightened inner child who is driving our reactions, healing becomes possible. The space is then opened for us to sit down with that child and embrace them with acceptance, understanding, and love.

Sunday
Mercury trine Eris: We are not shy about expressing our opinions today. This can be a helpful influence for taking action on a new plan or project, especially one that fulfills a need to feel independent and free.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: You may feel more restless than usual this year, with a heightened need for new experiences or to express your independence in some way. You may surprise yourself by your openness to changes in a specific area of your life, depending on the house placements of both your natal Sun and transiting Uranus. However, old insecurities and even fears may arise along the way, giving you the opportunity for greater self-understanding. Accepting that you have an inner aspect of yourself that is less than confident challenges you to embrace self-care in a way that may not feel natural for goal-oriented Capricorn natives. Please see the description of “Sun square Chiron” on Friday’s aspects list above for more guidance. (Solar Return Sun trine Uranus, square Chiron)

In peace, love, and gratitude,

Pam

THE PLANETS have great surprises and profound shifts in store for us in 2024! As we move through the year — and especially through the first four months of the year — we will engage with powerful cosmic forces that can permanently and positively redirect the course of our lives. Please join astrologer Pam Younghans for this “Breakthroughs and Awakenings” webinar as she describes the planetary influences we’ll be working with during January-April, 2024. Here are some highlights:

IN JANUARY: A shift in priorities and a new phase of societal change begins as the Sun and Pluto align in Capricorn and march side-by-side into Aquarius. At virtually the same time, radical Uranus stations direct and is trine Mars, supporting grand strides forward.

IN FEBRUARY: An innovative Aquarius New Moon heralds surprising changes. This effect is reinforced as three more planets make ingress into socially progressive Aquarius. The Full Moon toward month’s end requires us to model maturity and caution.

IN MARCH: The Aries Equinox foretells of a dramatic season ahead. It is followed by a Lunar Eclipse/Libra Full Moon that triggers new developments in relationship and legal matters.

IN APRIL: A Total Solar Eclipse/Aries New Moon marks a major turning point. The life-changing alignment between visionary Jupiter and ingenious Uranus is strong throughout the month, activating some of the “breakthroughs and awakenings” that inspired the title of this webinar. Pam will take us back in history to past Jupiter-Uranus conjunctions, shedding light on the energies we’ll be working with.

PLEASE JOIN US! This webinar is for everyone, whether you are a newcomer to astrology or have spent years in study. Before the class airs, you will receive aspect calendars for January-April so that you can use them for notetaking. And if you’re not able to attend live, no worries! Everyone who registers will receive links to the replay and all support materials within 24 hours after the class airs.

NorthPoint Astrology Journal Your guide to planetary energies April 24 to 30, 2023 By Astrologer Pam Younghans

NorthPoint Astrology Journal

Your guide to planetary energies
April 24 to 30, 2023

Aspects of Note this Week
Times and dates are Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). Add 7 hours for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
MON: Sun conjunct North Node, Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto
TUE: Sun sextile Saturn, Venus sextile Chiron
WED: No major aspects are exact today
THU: Mars square Chiron
FRI: No major aspects are exact today
SAT: Mars sextile Uranus
SUN: No major aspects are exact today

BETWEEN ECLIPSES: As we begin the last week of April 2023, we are moving through that surreal Neverland between two eclipses, when it may seem as if our feet are never truly touching ground. Increasing that sensation of being partly in another world, Mercury is now retrograde as well.

The transformational effects of Pluto are also very apparent throughout this eclipse season, both because the dwarf planet was strongly activated by last week's solar eclipse and because it is moving very slowly in anticipation of stationing retrograde next Monday. I liken our experience of a planet's station to standing on a wooden platform as a train arrives at the depot. As the train comes closer and closer, it moves more and more slowly, and we feel its vibration and hear its engines more and more loudly. When the train is finally at a standstill in front of us, the vibration beneath our feet and the sound in our ears are at their height. After a brief pause, the train reverses direction, pulling slowly out of the station but then picking up speed, and our sensory awareness of the vibration and the sound gradually diminish.

PLUTO THE CATALYST: Pluto is the god of the underworld, the psychotherapist, the catalyst in a process of death and rebirth. These next two weeks, before and after Pluto's exact station on May 1, are a time of purging or detoxification. The urge may be especially strong to divest ourselves of anything that is no longer in alignment with us, or with who we are becoming.

The impact of Pluto's station is being felt by everyone, but may be felt most profoundly by those with natal planets or sensitive points on the cusp between a cardinal sign and a fixed sign. This includes the last degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn and the first degree of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius.

This is a powerful time in which to eliminate what no longer works, to cleanse on physical, emotional, and mental levels. As we embrace the detoxification process with conscious intention, we then are able to handle any emotional residue that may arise as a sign of progress being made, much like detox symptoms when taking cleansing herbs.

THE QUANTUM SHIFT ACCELERATES: I hope you can join us for my upcoming webinar! "A Quickening: The Quantum Shift Gains Momentum" will be airing live and recorded for replay on May 4 ~ the day before the Scorpio lunar eclipse. During the class, I'll talk about the upcoming Jupiter-Pluto square and other dynamic planetary influences we'll be working with from May through August 2023. Details are in the right-hand column, or simply go to https://events.humanitix.com/a-quickening to register.

DAILY ASPECTS: Here are this week's most important planetary aspects, with my brief interpretations of each.

Monday
Sun conjunct North Node: Our evolutionary path is highlighted with this alignment. We are reminded that spiritual growth is enhanced by being grounded and centered, and by focusing on inner calm and peace.
Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto: Honesty and integrity are central themes in relationships today. The urge to get to the heart of interpersonal issues is strong.

Tuesday
Sun sextile Saturn: This calming influence enables us to focus on practical concerns today.
Venus sextile Chiron: After yesterday's stormy conditions, healing is possible today, as we become aware of how underlying insecurities – our own or those of a loved one –have affected our relationships.

Wednesday
No major aspects are exact today.

Thursday
Mars square Chiron: People can be defensive today, due to taking issues very personally. Some may respond passive-aggressively if they are afraid to directly express anger.

Friday
No major aspects are exact today.

Saturday
Mars sextile Uranus: We are inspired to take independent action today, based on a strong awareness of our deeper needs. This could be a good time to try new activities that enhance our emotional well-being.

Sunday
No major aspects are exact today.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: There is an introspective tone to this year for you, Taurus. It may be a good time to find activities that use words to increase your sense of peace and well-being, such as journaling or keeping a gratitude diary. The planetary energies support a stronger commitment to a mindfulness practice or another meditational or creative outlet that enhances a calm mental state. Writers could find this year very productive for creating a first draft, with the intent to finalize or publish after their birthday in 2024. (Solar Return Sun conjunct retrograde Mercury, sextile Saturn)

In peace and with gratitude,

Pam

Aspects of Note this Week
Times and dates are Pacific Standard Time (PST); add 8 hours for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

MON: Venus square Chiron, Venus quincunx Mars, Mars sextile Chiron
TUE: Jupiter enters Aries
WED: Sun enters Capricorn (Solstice), Sun square Jupiter, Sun sesquiquadrate Uranus
THU: Venus trine Uranus
FRI: Chiron stations direct, New Moon 2:16 a.m. PST, Jupiter semisquare Uranus
SAT: Mercury sextile Neptune
SUN: No major aspects are exact today

SOLAR FLARES: This past week, the Sun released an amazing number of moderate solar flares in just three short days. Starting just before midnight PST on December 13, and lasting through early December 16, an astonishing 25 M-class events occurred.

Solar flares affect not only the Earth and its atmosphere, but all life on this planet. A study by the National Institutes of Health states that these events "can act as stressors," affecting sleep patterns, blood pressure, breathing, circulation, the immune system, heart rate, the nervous system, and other physiological processes. There are also connections between solar flares and behaviors, emotional well-being, and mental health.

Metaphysically, solar flares affect our energy fields and can initiate a process of clearing, where toxins that have been stored in the cells of the body are released. This can result in experiencing waves of sadness, anger, fear, and other lower-frequency emotions. These may manifest as over-reactions to events that usually would not affect us, or they may seemingly appear on their own, with no clear trigger or source. As this clearing happens, there can also be a short-term increase in body temperature, felt as a hot flash.

Although the flurry of M-class solar flares has abated for now, please continue with good self-care this week, as our physical and metaphysical bodies take time to adjust to the energies. Especially important: Drink extra fluids, exercise gently, and get good, solid sleep.

A WEEK OF CHANGES: We have several important events occurring this week: Jupiter returns to Aries on Tuesday; the Solstice, when the Sun enters Capricorn, occurs on Wednesday; and on Friday, Chiron is at a standstill, there is a New Moon, and Jupiter is semisquare Uranus.

Jupiter entered Aries on May 10 of this year, but then went retrograde on July 28 and backed up into Pisces on October 28. Enterprises that looked promising in May, June, and July may seem to have stalled for a while, but with Jupiter now moving direct and re-entering Aries on December 20, there is an opportunity to jumpstart projects that have been idling.

The main questions to ask ourselves at this time are related to what we hopefully learned while Jupiter was retrograde: Do we now have a clearer knowing of what we believe in? How does a deeper understanding of life’s meaning and our own spiritual truth affect how we proceed from here? And, as a new sense of faith and hope begins to stabilize, how can we use Jupiter in Aries to springboard new endeavors that support the broader vision we now have?

CAPRICORN SOLSTICE AND NEW MOON: The Sun enters Capricorn at 1:48 p.m. PST on December 21, marking the start of summer in the Southern Hemisphere and the first day of winter in lands north of the equator. Although our physical location determines whether this is the day of longest or shortest daylight (each of which holds its own symbology), we can all agree that the Solstice is an important turning point, when the Sun seems to stand still in the sky and then reverses direction.

This is a time when we are likewise advised to stop and be still, to reflect perhaps on what has been and how we want to proceed going forward. It can also be a time of celebration in anticipation of the energies of the new season.

The astrological chart for the Solstice shows basic themes for the next three months. The natal chart for this Solstice shows a very strong Sun-Jupiter square, which can indicate a tendency to leap without proper planning. It could also manifest as a challenge to existing belief systems that elicits assertive or aggressive responses. In addition, the Sun is sesquiquadrate Uranus, signifying unexpected course changes, and is tightly square Ceres, which requires us to strengthen self-esteem and to rethink relationships and alliances.

The Moon is in Sagittarius at the Solstice, activating legal, ethical, and ideological concerns. An opposition between the Moon and retrograde Mars indicates a need to be openminded and tolerant, and could mean some delays in getting projects started until after Mars goes direct on January 12.

The new lunar cycle begins at 2:17 a.m. PST on December 23, when the Sun and Moon align at 01°32´ Capricorn. The chart for this New Moon contains the same solar aspects as the Solstice chart, so please see the paragraph above describing those influences. In general, a Capricorn New Moon is a good time to set new goals and to focus on the practical steps we will need to take if we are to successfully reach the mountain peak we have chosen to climb.

JUPITER SEMISQUARE URANUS: Jupiter and Uranus are exactly semisquare on Friday. This is a longer-term influence that has been in effect for a few weeks, but one that will be most powerfully activated this week. It will be very strong at the time of the New Moon, when the Sun and Moon are in close aspect to both Jupiter and Uranus.

This Jupiter-Uranus aspect might have been a contributing energetic factor in the flurry of M-class solar flares of this past week. When these two planets interact, electrical activity in all its forms is heightened. Jupiter, the largest planet in our known solar system, magnifies whatever it touches; Uranus, named for the god of Chaos, manifests in surprising or sudden events. With Uranus in environmentally-conscious Taurus, we might "expect" strange lightning storms and other unusual occurrences in the natural world and in weather systems this week.

On another level, Jupiter is the planet of spiritual belief, wisdom, and faith, while Uranus is the planet of Higher Mind, the god of the Cosmos. Their interaction this week can thus act as a catapult, enabling us to achieve new altered states of consciousness. As we access higher-frequency information and insights, we may find that the course we had originally set will need to change.

QUANTUM SHIFT! My "Quantum Shift" webinar is in just three weeks! I'm looking forward to sharing with you what will be happening astrologically in 2023. After providing an overview of the entire year, I'll then talk about the first four months in greater detail. These will be exciting times, with Saturn entering Pisces and Pluto stepping into Aquarius in March. Please see the right-hand column on this page for the full class description, or visit: https://quantumshift2023.eventbrite.com

DAILY ASPECTS: Here are this week's most important planetary aspects, with my brief interpretations of each.

Monday
Venus square Chiron, Venus quincunx retrograde Mars, Mars sextile Chiron: Relationships are in the spotlight today. People may be especially sensitive and wearing their emotions on their sleeves. Partial resolution is possible, but it will take close attention to the words we use and how we choose to say them.

Tuesday
Jupiter enters Aries: Jupiter will move very quickly through Aries, and will enter Taurus on May 16, 2023.

Wednesday
Sun enters Capricorn (Solstice): Today we begin a new solar month, in which our attention is drawn to long-range aspirations. There is a sense of coming "down to earth," as we focus on practical matters and what we must do in concrete terms to achieve our goals. There is also a hermit-like quality to Capricorn, as it is the sign of self-reliance, personal discipline, and responsibility.
Sun square Jupiter, Sun sesquiquadrate Uranus: Surprises challenge us to open our minds and rethink old belief systems.

Thursday
Venus trine Uranus: We find it easier to give loved ones their own space today, and likewise are more in touch with our individual needs and values.

Friday
Chiron stations direct: We may be especially aware now of ways in which anger has been masking self-doubt and other insecurities that are in need of our healing attention.
New Moon 2:16 a.m. PST: This New Moon in Capricorn is well-suited for setting "New Year's resolutions," since the sign of the Seagoat always has the mountaintop in its sights.
Jupiter semisquare Uranus: Unexpected events alter our course but also open the door to expanded awareness.

Saturday
Mercury sextile Neptune: This aspect represents the ability to combine logical reasoning and intuitive knowing, which supports communications on all levels.

Sunday
No major aspects are exact today.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: There is a restless quality to this coming year, that is likely to inspire you to take new risks in an effort to experience more variety in your life. At the same time, you may be unclear about your longer-term goals, or even what would bring you true fulfillment. The planetary influences this year are more conducive to experimentation than to clear-cut decision-making. There may be times that you feel very foggy or unsure about who you really are and what you truly want, but these are temporary conditions, giving you the opportunity to intuit your course step-by-step rather than planning too far ahead. (Solar Return Sun square Jupiter, sesquiquadrate Uranus, square Neptune)

In peace and with gratitude,

Pam

PAST RELATIONSHIPS
and old relationship themes are very present now. Regrets and resentments are resurfacing to be released and forgiven, so that we may move forward less entangled in the past. People from this lifetime and other lifetimes may appear in dreams, sudden remembrances, or even in physical form. We notice their significance by dream images that do not fade, by memories that linger and call us to explore them further, by the emotions that arise and do not quickly subside.

Venus, the goddess of Love, and Saturn, the lord of Karma, conjoin at 21°44´ Aquarius on Monday this week, while both are at the "bending" of the karmic nodal axis. Venus will be precisely square the nodes on Wednesday, and the Saturn-node square will be exact on April 11.

THIS ANNUAL CONJUNCTION between Venus and Saturn is also typically a time for serious decisions in the areas of love and finances. The Chandra Symbol for the 22nd degree of Aquarius is "A woman making lace." John Sandbach's explanation of this symbol gives us hope for the outcomes of current negotiations:

"Here we find patience as well as the ability to concentrate and to perceive the overall patterns of whatever we are dealing with. This degree is adept at carrying out delicate procedures and of keeping all the strands of its motives and needs straight. It is one who brings people and situations together in an attempt to produce something harmonious and beautiful – a degree of great refinement."

Another hopeful indicator, Neptune is in harmonious aspect to the nodal axis this week, providing the opportunity for us to let go of past animosities or jealousies (South Node in Scorpio) and turn our attention to peacemaking (North Node in Taurus). As the planet of Transcendence, Neptune assists us in forgiving and releasing what has been, so that we can move into compassion and understanding.

OUR NEW LUNAR CYCLE begins at 11:24 p.m. PDT on Thursday, March 31 (6:24 am GMT on Friday, April 1), when the Sun and Moon align at 11°30´ Aries. The two lights are within two degrees of Messenger Mercury, indicating a focus on communication, transportation, and information sharing for at least the next two weeks. The Sun and Moon are also within one degree of the Wounded Healer Chiron at the time of the lunation.

The potential contained in this stellium of Mercury, the Sun, the Moon, and Chiron is that of healing through open, forthright communication and new, pioneering ideas. At the same time, since Mercury in Aries is not known for tactfulness and people are feeling especially insecure and vulnerable, it will be important to carefully consider our words before speaking. With the New Moon also semisquare Venus, addressing differing values and discussing economic issues are key to finding resolution

This New Moon is also significant in that it opens the door to eclipse season; our next New Moon, on April 30, will be a partial solar eclipse. As we enter the new lunar cycle this week, we are also embarking on a time of major developments that will influence our course, both individually and globally, for the next six months. More on the eclipses in the weeks to come.

HERE are the planetary aspects we'll be working with this week, day by day:

Monday
Venus conjunct Saturn: This alignment provides a reality check in the areas of relationship and finances. It is time to consider practical concerns in both of these arenas.
Neptune sextile North Node: An opportunity to forgive what has been, to release past resentments, and to open our hearts in compassion and peace.

Tuesday
No major aspects are exact today.

Wednesday
Venus square nodal axis: Relationships from the past, or old relationship patterns, come to the surface to be acknowledged, forgiven, and resolved.
Mercury semisquare Saturn: Conversations do not flow easily today. The overall mood is a bit pessimistic, so try not to make important decisions based on seeing the glass as half empty instead of half full.
Venus sextile Eris: The courage of our convictions motivates new action in relationship or financial matters.

Thursday
New Moon 11:24 p.m. PDT (6:24 am GMT on Friday): The Aries New Moon is a time for courageous new initiatives, based in a strong knowing of what we truly want and need.

Friday-Saturday
Mercury semisquare Venus, Sun conjunct Chiron, Mercury conjunct Chiron, Sun conjunct Mercury, Venus semisquare Chiron: Conversations, while difficult, provide an opportunity to directly address key issues in a relationship. If care and understanding are invoked, and we use the communication skills of both speaking clearly and listening intentionally, healing is possible.

Sunday
Mercury sextile Ceres, Sun sextile Ceres: It is easier to communicate with empathy and an open mind today. We feel a stronger rapport with others, especially with family and with animals.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: Your rational mind is highlighted this year, perhaps inspiring you to put pen to paper or to speak your truth more directly. It will be important to carefully assess your style of communicating. If you find yourself speaking too impulsively or loudly, consider that this abruptness may be coming from a place in you that is fearful that it won't be heard if it doesn't assert itself forcefully. Take the time to listen to and care for this aspect of your being, and it is more likely that others will likewise take the time to listen carefully to you. (Solar Return Sun conjunct Mercury, semisquare Venus, conjunct Chiron)

In peace and with gratitude,

Pam
