Back nearly a year ago when I started prepping my lecture for the year ahead 2020, I saw this week as quite challenging because we have 3 planets Saturn, Venus and Jupiter stationary and turning retrograde within a few days of each other. The vision that came into my head was like when someone on a train or a bus pulls the emergency stop cord. I could hear the sound of the breaks squeaking on the tracks and felt the motion of the train jolt to a stop creating some very unsettled energy. I just knew this week and the weeks on either side of this week would feel difficult for all of us. Everything coming to a stop.

Gemini Full Moon

December 3, 2017 7:46 am PT

Neptune in Pisces squares this Full Moon, blurring boundaries between logic and belief. Gemini Moon keeps the air abuzz with ideas, chatter and gossip. Dazzled or scattered by options or distractions. Be aware of unconscious motivations. Engage imagination with intention or relax and intentionally disengage. Recognize the vulnerability within yourself and others.

Intuition, deep healing and renewal are emphasized. An awareness of the fragility of life. Sleepy, dreamy, musing. Reflect on the unseen. Life is not all it appears. Listen to the waves, the wind, the images and the songs that stir your soul.

Mercury retrograde coincides with the full moon, December 3 – 23. Mercury is the ruler of Gemini (this full moon) and is in Sagittarius (where the Sun is now, opposite Moon in Gemini). There is weighty tension in thoughts and conversation. Some may find it difficult to express themselves or are in positions of restraint. We are in a deep reconsideration of what is the truth. We’ll be hearing even more about “fake news”.
November 27: Mercury conjunct Saturn
December 3: Mercury retrograde at 29 degrees Sagittarius
December 6: Mercury conjunct Saturn

Time for serious decisions. Yet, as we can see, there is more than meets the eye. Can we be realistic without getting depressed? Bogged down with bureaucracy? Stalled negotiations? (On the national stage we have budget “negotiations”, nuclear war “no negotiation”, and the threat of losing our internet freedom – call your members of Congress now!) Be selective about where you direct your attention. Impatience goes nowhere. Focus, simplify. Firm your alignment with your core truths.

conscious evolution, conscious relationships, Jupiter in Libra, Jupiter Retrograde, ego and essence, deep truth, personal truth, healthy ego expression, Venus retrograde, Venus in Aries, Venus in Pisces

Venus & Jupiter Retrograde
Relationship Rectification

By Sarah Varcas

All dates are GMT

April 2017 sees an increase in retrograde activity, with roughly half of the month (9th – 15th April & 20th April – 3rd May) featuring four retrogrades. This is something we’ve not seen since September 2016 and is a celestial pattern which invites us to retreat, revisit and reflect.

The month begins with Venus retrograde in Aries (since 4th March) and Jupiter still retrograde in Libra (since 6th Feb). Relationships are an on-going focus, including those with the wider world which may demand bold compassion in defiance of the egoic mind that divides into friend and foe.
As Venus retrogrades into Pisces on 3rd April, personal need is eclipsed by the dissolution of boundaries that separate me from you and them from us. Many current challenges demand that we find new and creative ways to live in a world that threatens to split into warring factions at the drop of a hat. Venus invites us to soften around the edges of individuality and separation, to embrace our own divinity and prepare to use it as a balm upon the world once she turns direct on 15th April. Only through right-relationship with oneself can we forge constructive connections with others, providing all parties a voice whilst allowing for nuances of difference and self-determination. If we continue reacting rather than reflecting and defending rather than responding, we remain in the mind-set of ‘me against the world’, further cementing the tyranny of ego over essence.

Jupiter retrograde reminds us no external voyage of discovery – no matter how enlightening – can match the wisdom won when we journey to our centre to discover who we are. If we cannot know ourselves in the deepest sense there is no one else who will solve our problems or heal our wounds. The usual enthusiasm and outward thrust of Jupiterian energy is turned inward now and we may find certain projects and plans, especially those intimately bound up with other people, have slowed in recent weeks. If so, Jupiter has applied the brakes to encourage reflection on our motivation and the values that underpin our goals.

In Libra, Jupiter asks why we connect with the people we do, what we bring to our relationships and the expectations we place upon others. This self-enquiry may be uncomfortable at times, for whilst awakening is intrinsic to our nature, it is not just a beautiful grace. It also holds us accountable and requires an inner quest which strips away the pretence of false selves to reveal the sacred core shared by all. Nothing but truth survives its challenge and with the retrograde trend building as April progresses, we must be prepared to place everything on its sacrificial altar, with no holding back to avoid the demands of the Real.

25th March – 13th August 2016: Saturn Retrograde in Sagittarius: Rebirth and Responsibility By Sarah Varcas

25th March – 13th August 2016: Saturn Retrograde in Sagittarius: Rebirth and Responsibility By Sarah Varcas

Saturn stationed retrograde in the 17th degree of Sagittarius. This degree is one of rebirth, with Saturn our midwife in the coming months. In true Saturnine form it may not be an easy birth and the labour may be long, but the outcome, when it stations direct in August, will reveal the value of our efforts. This rebirth will reanimate part of us which has become lifeless and stagnant, trapped in a state of suspended animation having encountered a challenge, shock or disappointment that took the wind from its sails. Wherever we’ve had the life knocked out of us by the twists and turns of fate, the decisions of others or our own unpreparedness for the path ahead, Saturn retrograde offers an opportunity to regather our energy, regain our balance and breathe new life into old hopes, dreams and aspirations.

Saturn in Sagittarius demands we maintain a bigger view of our lives, beyond our personal present. It enables us to identify connections between apparently random experiences and reveals how past decisions, attitudes and behaviours have painted the picture that is our life today. If we find ourselves frustrated or struggling against opposing forces that seem set upon our demise, it suggests we seek their genesis within and consider how well or not we have previously honoured the mystery of life. To what extent have we ignored a greater intelligence which invites us into alignment, or sought to control rather than allow life’s unfolding? In Saturn’s world a mere shift of perspective doesn’t change the past or arrest the force of its influence upon the present. It demands, instead, that we acknowledge and take responsibility for all we have been and all we have done, welcoming their current ripples of consequence as great teachers bestowing precious wisdom.

We must now face without guile the impact of who we once were. In embodying the wisdom born of doing so, we can live life with an open and enquiring mind, a faithful heart and a willingness to honour truths difficult to embrace. Saturn now offers a chance to process in the quiet of our own souls the lessons and insights which have arisen since its arrival in Sagittarius last September. Cast your mind back to then and reflect upon all that has happened since: changes welcome and otherwise, shocks and surprises, the new that arrived, the old that left and those things which seem forever intransigent! Saturn speaks most deeply about the latter now, revealing why we struggle to change that unhelpful habit, get a grip of that negative behaviour or marshal our inner resources in a constructive way. In doing so it reveals exactly what we need to sacrifice in order to be free. Where we hold ourselves in chains of old attachments born of comfortable familiarity with a status quo that keeps us safe. Numb and stagnant, but safe nonetheless.

In the coming months we can discern how to use our gifts, skills, knowledge and wisdom effectively. We can learn more about what stops us from doing so, the petty things we allow to distract us from what matters, our lack of discipline or unwillingness to do the work needed to manifest our dreams. Saturn delivers nothing on a golden platter as we lounge upon a velvet bed!  Its rewards are hard won and earned through commitment, patience and application of the whole self to the job at hand. A hard taskmaster for sure, but also a fair one, and efforts made produce commensurate results. So if our efforts are failing to deliver the goods, it’s a sure sign that something is out of alignment or our timing is off. In the coming months Saturn retrograde will help us get to grips with timing, application of attention and patience with the process of creative change. It asks of us commitment to the journey and a willingness to do what needs to be done rather than fantasising a changed world whilst doing all we can to sustain the old one!

What's Happening in the Stars ~ September 29-October 5, 2014 ~By Hillory Skott

~ September 29-October 5, 2014 ~By Hillory Skott

Peace seeking Venus is moving into Libra. Venus rules Libra
and feels fantastic here. And with Mercury in Scorpio you
might just be in for some passionate adventure. Charm and
grace mingle with deep meaningful feelings. Mercury stations
Retrograde this week too: What has transpired in the last three
months that needs sorting and organizing? Mercury retrograde
allows us to get clear, to make sure all our ducks are in a row,
T's crossed and I's dotted.

Venus moving into Libra is kind of lovely. I personally appreciate
the Libra search for peace and beauty. Libra is refined and charming.
Libra dislikes the unpleasant and loud. It is a kind considerate
energy that leans a little too much in the direction of people pleasing.

The Scorpio Mercury should fix any of those nicey nicey tendencies
that crop up now. Not that nice isn't right; it's just that being real
is more meaningful. You can connect from the heart when you
come from a place of truth.

With Mercury in Scorpio you may find yourself with the deep
desire to get to the bottom of things. If life is off track now you
can't help but dig around for reasons. Scorpio is great at endings,
so if you find yourself in need of dropping shitty people or
situations, now is your chance.

Look for sweet Venus in Libra and Mercury in undying Scorpio
to combine and create you a dream come true. Imagine the fairy
tale image of a brave prince waking the sleeping lady up with true
loves kiss. Something beautiful can happen that wakes you from
your slumber and makes you feel Loving, Loved, Love, sigh. . .

Mercury goes retrograde on October 4 , 2014 PST. This is not the
time to sign important documents, or attempt any major beginnings.
If you do have to go ahead with important communications be very
clear that it's highly likely you will misinterpret things in some way.

Communication snafus are commonplace with clever mercury
backtracking. Mostly the mix ups are only minor irritations to s
low you down. Some person or project is revisited, revised and
revived. All the "re-s" work wonderfully well in retrograde Mercury.
Are you headed in the right direction? Relax and receive the rewards
of past efforts.

That same day power loving Pluto is squaring, it's all about me,
the sunshiny Sun. And later that same day fiery Mars trines bursting
to change Uranus. A trine is supportive- expect a flash of excitement.
This is an energy that needs to move, so in the very least, go for a
walk somewhere new. We all need some new in our lives from time
to time. Go for it or it will go for you.

This is a wonderful week to refresh your energy. The new season is
soothing to the senses. Change wakes us. Breathe it in. Witness
the magical rhythm of the Universe. It’s right there, under our noses.

Enjoy your week ahead!

October Energy Report 2014 ~ By Jennifer Hoffman | Enlightening Life September 29, 2014

October Energy Report 2014
~ By Jennifer Hoffman | Enlightening Life
September 29, 2014

Welcome to October, which will be a welcome relief from September although it’s going to be busy, with a Mercury retrograde, two eclipses, all three personal planets changing signs (Mercury, Venus, and Mars), Pluto gaining forward motion, Saturn finally moving out of its retrograde shadow, and probably more solar flare activity. I hesitate to lean towards the positive or negative when talking about the potentials, although both sides are likely to some degree, as what that means is relative to each individual based on their own path. This is a time, though, where situations in which we have ‘run out of energy road’ are likely to be a strong focus and anything that is an energy drain will be even more so. If there’s any self sabotage happening, you will know it, and have opportunities to make course corrections.

We have had a lot of retrograde action this year, inviting us to dig deeply into our individual and collective energy baskets and remove what is no longer necessary or what no longer serves us. Mercury passes through much of the Mars retrograde degrees, including the all important 16 degree mark. What were you processing from March through July that may be coming up again for review? What didn’t change then that is taking its last gasps now? While we ‘say’ we want to let things go, we often go back and forth over the same issues,  and dragging them out as long as possible, hoping that they will change so we won’t have to let them go. It will now be clear that some situations are DOA (dead on arrival) and cannot be revived any longer. Anything that needs to be released is making room for something new. Are we willing to create space in our lives for it, by releasing anything that is now occupying that space?

But before we can know what is old or new, what brings us joy, what we are reluctant to release, what does or doesn’t serve us, we must have an outcome in mind to define what that means to us.  Whether that is love, peace, joy, and abundance, something we want to have or do, a goal or direction for our life, or an energy we want to embody, outcomes create the container for our energy flows. See my YouTube videos about energy containers by clicking here to create the new containers for your energy flows. Then, release becomes a process of moving into a new energy space, instead of reluctantly acknowledging that despite your best efforts, you failed at something you really wanted to succeed at.

Moving from healing to wholeness, becoming a 360 degree expression of our energetic potential, being in the highest aspects of our power, are all ways in which we can set intentions that define where we want energy to flow. And the right time to do that is personal and can range from our first twinge of mild discomfort to acute, chronic pain. Everyone has a different level of pain tolerance and what is bearable to one person could be intolerable to another. Too often we wait for the right moment to act, instead of taking one right action in each moment. We change when our pain becomes greater than our fear of change and sometimes it takes a while to hit our ‘pain ceiling’. Maybe this month will be the deciding point, it certainly has the potential for it.

With retrogrades we can release, review, reveal, remember, reconnect, revive, re-align, restart,  recalibrate, reconsider, and repeat, if we choose. If we don’t do anything, that is a choice as well. Eclipses are transformation and turning points, that offer glimpses into new potentials and possibilities, often by bringing up the past in new ways, and in October we have a repeat of the October 1995 eclipses. A repeating eclipse cycle plus a Mercury retrograde could bring some interesting revelations about relationships and connections, and what is ending, for the last time, and what is ready for a new beginning (new as in brand new, never been seen or used before, in the package with labels attached).

We’re also building to the December Uranus/Pluto square number 6 (one more to go after that) and that’s going to focus on the mind/spirit connection. This is where the material world and spiritual world connect, on all levels, individually and collectively. Who is the author of your reality, you, the past, the potential future, other people, or something else? Who do you give authority to, either consciously or unconsciously? While we believe that we are helpless when it comes to outside authority, it’s a reflection of who we give authority to in our lives. Being persecuted by ‘authorities’ is a powerful past life issue for many of us and it is often the root cause of our self sabotage. Be aware of this as you go through October, as it may come up multiple times.

In Libra, the Mercury retrograde repeats the Mars retrograde from December 2013 to July 2014 and this is also the sign of open enemies, which includes people who stand against you and your own self sabotage. Self limitation, self sabotage, and self judgment may be big themes for October as we’re being asked to reach into and dredge the bottom layers of our energy baskets and release what doesn’t serve our desire for peace, love, joy, and abundance in our lives and in the world. Or we can use this energy to see where we are blocking our own progress, limiting our fulfillment, and maintaining our pain levels because we are too afraid of change. We are individuals and are part of the collective, and our realities are interwoven with those of everyone in the planet. If you’re not sure how that works, post a cute video of your pet and see how long it takes to generate over a million views.

As we march onward through our journey of connection, ascension, and evolution into whole, fulfilling, 360 degree living, where we empower every aspect of ourselves and our lives, we become a united force for peace, love, and joy in the world. This is what creates heaven on earth. It begins with us. Where do you begin that process in your life?  Start today, the Universe always supports us in every way, give it something powerful to work with by creating powerful, life expanding, soul-ful intentions that will rock your life in extra-ordinary ways and change the world.

Have a wonderful month.

22nd July 2014: Uranus Retrograde and the Full Super Moon in August by Sarah Varcas

 The Summons by Rassouli
Image: 'The Summons' by Rassouli

Just a heads up: Uranus stationed retrograde in the past few hours. It’s gotten a bit lost in the jubilation over Saturn stationing direct the day before, but it’s extremely important and we need to take note!! Not least because next month (10th August GMT) we have a Full Super Moon in Aquarius (ruled by Uranus), and between now and then there is work to be done and awareness to be raised. This Moon, to my mind, is the one and only Full Super Moon this year. I know July’s and September’s Full Moons are officially designated Super Moons, but the orb for that designation is huge and way beyond anything that I would apply. So (in my humble opinion) the Full Moon in August is endlessly more powerful than any other this year and to have its ruler station retrograde a few weeks prior is of great significance.

I’ll be posting about the Super Moon when it occurs, but between now and then (10th August) we all need to step up and sharpen our integrity and discernment a million-fold! This is Uranus’s final retrograde passage during its on-going square to Pluto. This is our chance to make such a huge difference to the direction this planet is moving in, that I feel it’s not too over-the-top to say we are entering a moment of water-shed the likes of which we rarely ever receive. Energies are very polarised at the moment. It feels like everything is ratcheting up, for good and ill. Potentials are being fulfilled in all directions and we each need to take note of our own circumstances, our own lives, and decide what potentials we want to see fulfilled in the coming months. And we’re talking Aquarius and Uranus here, so this can’t be about us as individuals getting our needs met and satisfying our own desires. This has to be about the best outcomes for the planet, for the collective. We, each and every one of us, are the guardians of the future, right here right now in this present moment. We have to ‘get’ that fact, and get it fully, at all levels of our being, in order to make the right choices at this time.

This coming Super Moon is going to blow a lot of things out of the water: long cherished beliefs, comforting habits of thought and behaviour, assumed ‘truths’ which merely serve to maintain the status quo (and that may not be the status quo you at first thought). Everything is up for review in the coming weeks and what we haven’t penetrated deeply in order to know inside out by the time the Moon arrives, we will have to do so then. So the sooner we get started the better! And it’ll take courage, because if we do this work as deeply as is needed right now it may entail speaking truths unwelcomed by those with whom we have forged alliances. It may necessitate changing our stance entirely on matters that have meant so much to us before. It may mean the ending of alliances to make way for the forging of new ones, or a period of aloneness while we get to know the new ‘self’ emerging.

Ultimately we may be challenged by this enquiry to leave behind everything familiar in order to walk into the unknown naked of all that has previously clothed us in terms of identity, ego and even purpose. I know this message may not be palatable and I know some may reject it. Ultimately we each have to decide for ourselves, but whatever the apparent cost appears to be from where we stand now, if we can walk this path of courage and rebirth in the coming few weeks, the rewards in the longer term – both personal and global – will be beyond our current imaginings and we will know freedom like never, ever before.

Wishing many blessings for each and every one of us. May we all know the powerful courage and the endless love necessary to begin again, spiritually naked and deeply transformed.

Weekly Forecast: June 8 - 14, 2014 Kelly M. Beard

Weekly Forecast: June 8 - 14, 2014

Kelly M. Beard
a message from Kelly M. Beard
Sunday, 8 June, 2014  (posted 9 June, 2014)

Weekly Forecast:  June 8 - 14, 2014

6/8 ~ Venus (relationships) ~trine~ Pluto (transformation):

This energy tends to "intensify" relationships and/or emotions. You may feel extremely drawn to someone, emotionally as well as physically. You may feel the intense need to express your love, mentally, emotionally and physically. This energy is great for bringing deeper insights to the surface, which ultimately should strengthen any relationship. A new relationship started under this influence will have an intensity about it, as will any form of expression (artistic and otherwise).

6/9 ~ Neptune Retrograde at 7* Pisces

6/12 ~ Venus (values) ~oppose~ Saturn (reality):

There is a push-pull between your true values and your current reality.  You may find yourself questioning what is or is no longer important to you.  Or you may find yourself facing some hard and unavoidable truths.  Do not feel sorry for yourself and do not take it out on others.  It is time to take responsibility for making new choices here and now today, looking back will only trip you up.  Challenges may center around commitments you've made out of obligation and a sense of duty, rather than because you actually wanted to contribute.  You can use this energy to align your reality with the values in your heart.  Do not allow the anxiety associated with change to keep you from making some important decisions at this time.  If you give in to your fears, you could get caught up in martyrdom and victim consciousness.  Deciding what you want, committing to the work it will take to manifest and get to work!  You can integrate these energies by infusing your work with some heart and creative fire, you will be richly rewarded if you do.

6/14 ~ Mars (lower will) ~square~ Pluto (Higher will):

This is a test of what you are made of on the deepest core level and will require surrender as well as focus.  This energy challenges you to evolve and will make you want to push through all obstacles but you must be careful not to be so aggressive that you are stepping on anyone to get where you're going.  This is a potent energy that can facilitate major transformation in your life if you know who you are, what you want and what you are willing to sacrifice to get there - that includes parts of your Self that need to shift to be more effective.  This energy brings power struggles, either within or without, so be mindful because this energy is affecting everyone at this time.  This is the time to tie up any loose ends if you are close to beginning anew.  If you do not finish what you already have in the works, it may get in the way of things you want to do in the future.

14th April – 22nd September 2014: Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn: Spotting False Selves by Sarah Varcas

14th April – 22nd September 2014: Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn: Spotting False Selvesby Sarah Varcas

During all that intensity last month Pluto quietly stationed in the 14th degree of Capricorn to begin its current retrograde passage. Most people know Pluto to be a planet of immense transformation alongside deep suffering, and in its on-going square to Pluto it reminds us that it is often the change we most resist which liberates us the most once done and dusted! The trouble is, oftentimes we don’t actually want to be liberated, preferring, instead, our familiar and cosy, narrow life which is both predictable and controllable, even if the prediction is misery and the control is over factors which, ultimately, we would be better off without.

When retrograde, a planet turns us inward towards our core self, to identify its components and discover what we’re actually made of. This retrograde passage of Pluto asks us to examine those aspects of self and experience with which we identify most readily but which are in fact merely convenient hooks for a tired-out and battle-worn identity. Put another way, Pluto exhorts us to spot our false selves, created through fearful adaptation and a need to be safe rather than authentic, for in doing so we can more readily know our true self when it emerges into the light.

The challenge of last month’s Cardinal Cross and the eclipses either side of it presented us with a stark choice: change or sink deeper into the morass of emotion, beliefs, thoughts and behaviours which have become our familiar burden.  Many felt intimidated by the choice or the demands that making it placed upon them. It wasn’t an easy time, that’s for sure. But even the tiniest effort to let go an old and outworn perspective, behaviour or belief is now planted in the soil of our future and is taking root as we speak. Change doesn’t have to be huge and life-changing in a single moment. In the modern world where food is fast, the internet connects us all in real time and even the ‘spiritual marketplace’ is full of exhortations to get-rich-quick and fulfil your dreams in an instant, it’s easy to assume that if we can’t transform our life overnight we must be missing something. But this isn’t true, and in the coming months Pluto encourages us to recognise just how deep transformation needs to go for lasting change to occur, and how much time it can take for that to happen.

Habits of mind and emotion are powerful forces in our lives. When the present triggers the past we are all too easily caught up in a whirlwind of energy which sucks us into unconsciousness before we know it. And because we’ve been there so many times before it all feels so real and true: here we are in that same old situation feeling the same emotions which bring us down just when we really need to stay resilient and focused. As much as we may hate it, we also know it so well and in a funny way it’s almost reassuring that, just as we predicted, life has apparently served up another bowl of lemons. So off we trot to bemoan how we’re in the same old situation again and then we receive the same old sympathy again and so it goes on. Whilst all the time another part of us just wants to change and move on.

Or does it? Because if we really want to change and move on surely we’d just stop doing the same old thing over and over? We’d react differently, not get sucked in, not run for support like we have a million times before, or refuse to ask for help when we know we really need it, but instead find a new way to be within the situation… surely?! You would think so, yes, and yet so often we don’t. Human beings are creatures of habit and no more so than when it comes to emotional patterns. Managing our emotional landscape with insight and wisdom is one of the greatest challenges and achievements of the human condition.

Which is why we are lucky to have Pluto as an ally right now, because it strips away all the red-herrings to reveal the real issue behind all these problematic patterns: we identify with them so we have energy invested in them. Hence, to discard them is to discard a part of ourselves and who in their right mind would do that? In effect, we need our problems to tell us who we are. Without them we would be lost. They feed our ego and, despite the pain, they give us an identity which we can use to navigate our way through the world around us.

Have you ever received criticism from someone who matters to you? Hurts, doesn’t it? Because you have energy invested in that person having a particular opinion of you, when that opinion changes it shakes something inside. Compare that with criticism from someone who’s of no importance whatsoever – somehow it lacks the intensity of the previous scenario. It’s easier to shrug off or disregard, because their opinion is largely irrelevant to our sense of self. Our problems are a lot like this. We can be faced with what, to one person, may be a huge challenge but to us is just a minor blip because we don’t have our energy invested in that bit of our experience. Likewise a minor upset can occur which many would shrug off, but which to us is the end of the world because it touched a place in our own psyche where we have energy invested in things being a certain way.

In the coming months Pluto will reveal where we turn minor blips into major disasters by thrashing around, desperately trying to wrest back control. Thankfully it will also reveal a wiser way of handling things, in which we do not invest our energy and identity in our pain but instead make more empowered choices to rise above the petty concerns of the ego and embrace the greater motivation at the very heart of all that is: to be fully alive and fully awake no matter what. As we do so the pain itself can begin to fade and we can begin to live, more free, more authentic and more…well… alive, than ever before. Yes it takes time and it’s a process, but change can happen in every moment, and with Pluto beside us every moment is ripe for transformation if we can let it be so.
