Full Moon in Leo: Just ruling from the Heart. The Time to be happy is NOW.


Hello friends. Welcome to the most jubilant and powerful Full Moon we’ve had in awhile. Consider the strong energetic shifts since Mid-January, we can use it.


Many of the great spiritual teachings across many traditions refer to the idea that our *true* nature is Joy or Ananda – the pure Bliss of Being. There is nothing that we have to attain necessarily to attain it, but to remove the obscurations to it as clouds covering the Sun. I was reminded of a plate that was hung in the kitchen of my beloved Godparents that had two little Kewpie dolls dancing with the caption, “The time to be happy is now.” I was always attracted to the image and meaning, even as a child. As simple as the message was, I knew it was really onto something.


This moon brings with it a Jupiter/Moon conjunction by sign. This aspect in a birth chart is considered auspicious and positive in general terms. It can also be overexpansive in this case, which can produce a bit of a cosmic “comedown” on the flipside. The most skillful application here is to be joyful, open-hearted to what is presenting in the moment, but not getting carried away either by positive or negative emotions or events.


The Sabian Symbol for 15 Leo is: A Pageant, With Its Spectacular Floats, Moves Along A Street Crowded With Cheering People.


The Cosmic Tune for this Full Moon is “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, which also invites us to return to the truth of our joyful being and to let the rest of the “stuff” go. It also is a great reminder that like a giggle, a happy dance or a smile; joy can be infectious.

This moon is attached to other significant aspects including a powerful “Yod” configuration. This can bring a powerful buildup of energy and also subsequent outbursts. In the Collective, this can produce its own set of challenges. To be of the best service to your fellow humans (Sun in Aquarius) involves being your own best Ruler – and coming from the Heart as opposed to egoic/ordinary consciousness. A beatific ruler is compassionate, generous and keeps the interests of his/her people in mind. The shadow ruler being the “little dictator,” not seeing the bigger view and having a “my way or the highway” philosophy; both or which are potentials with Leo Full Moon energy.


This would not be in great timing to share any news that may be considered a “bombshell” or emotionally explosive in nature. The Full effects of a Full Moon can be felt for weeks after, but the “power window” associated with both New and Full moon is three days prior and afterwards. It is however, a great time for love, laughter, envisioning, manifesting and creative pursuits of all kinds.
