February's Leo full Moon falls on February 4 in Australia and February 3 in the US - I've had people ask me about this, many believe that, because it's one day later in Australia, that we get the new and full Moons later than the US. This is incorrect, of course, the lunations occur at exactly the same moment in time all over the planet, it's just that in Australia we are almost one calendar day ahead of the US). This Leo full Moon is one of considerable promise as it is conjuncting (together with) Jupiter - the Moon passes over Jupiter some hours after the exact full Moon and the Sun will be exactly opposite Jupiter. This can have us feeling expansive, optimistic and full of plans for the future. The following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom -
The Moon is on Leo 15: A Street Pageant Moving Along A Street Packed With People.

The Moon is on Leo 15: A Street Pageant Moving Along A Street Packed With People.
The ‘Street Pageant’ is seen ‘Moving Along a Street Packed With
People’. People really enjoy a ‘Street Pageant’ or a carnival, they get
together to celebrate their community, even if they aren’t directly
involved in what’s being celebrated. Just watching the ‘Street Pageant’
can inspire fun, joy and even a sense of pride as people come out to
watch and enjoy.
It may be a great achievement, or an anniversary event, that has spurred this ‘Street Pageant’. A large celebration can bring the community together and create some type of recognition for what has been accomplished. Most people will contribute to and support this display and share in the festivities. However, there will always be those who grumble about something; a lack of parking, too much noise or garbage being strewn about. Ignore the grumblers and go for it, you and others deserve the fun and the rewards. You are either in the 'Pageant' or watching it—what does it feel like to you? Are you celebrating and enjoying the fun? Are you feeling a little out of your depth and at the mercy of the people around you? Is there disagreement over the values of what’s being celebrated? If things get out of hand in this situation, you may feel like you’re pressed in and can’t get out. There can be a feeling of being walled-in by people. Whatever is true put on a happy and expressive face and go out and enjoy what’s going on. If people let down their barriers, they will find it easier to relate to others they may have never seen or interacted with before. This can create a wonderful feeling of unity as people join in and come together as one.
Keywords: Demonstrations of joy. Spectacular shows of solidarity. Ticker-tape parades. Community celebrations of victory or faith. Food and drink stalls. Mardi gras and gay pride parades. Being a participant or an observer. Having a following. Gaiety and spectacle. Performers, musicians, magicians. Street stalls. Traffic management. The mob. Lots of people. Cul-de-sacs. Carnivals.
The Caution: Egocentric displays. Blowing one’s trumpet. Closing off some areas of life, overplaying others. Problems with neighbors or people. Displays with little warmth or genuine communal feelings. Feeling like sardines in a can. Noisy neighborhoods. Loud music that annoys. Disruptive behavior. Hooligans and louts. Looting. Lack of privacy and quiet. Garbage on the street. Barriers between people.
The Moon symbolizes: Emotions, moods, mother, family, clan, domestic issues, relationship to home and country. Feelings, sentiments, nourishment, emotional nurturing, monkey chatter mind, lunar and menstrual cycles, clarity of emotions or lunacy. Female energy – yours and others.
The Sun is on Aquarius 15: Two Lovebirds Sitting On A Fence And Singing Happily
‘Two Lovebirds Sitting on a Fence and Singing Happily’ is an image that brings to mind togetherness, friendship, happiness, love, and the rejoicing of relationship. The ‘Lovebirds’ may be ‘Singing Happily’, but as they are ‘Sitting on a Fence’ this could be masking a reality; perhaps they are not exactly happy; perhaps they are not so together. If, indeed, the ‘Two’ are ‘Singing Happily’, this is cause for joy and celebration about issues relating to love, partnership, being together and the sharing of lives.
Keywords: Faith in love. Waiting for signs. Friendship and companionship. Issues of “that’s them and this is us”. Fences, borders and barriers. Showing love for all to see. Commitment to relationship. Mating for life. The need for honest communications. Singing. Speaking one’s truth.
The Caution: Sitting on the fence. Complaining about relationships. Waiting to see what the others do. Being stuck when one would rather fly off and be free. Having a fixed position. Not wanting to comply with the other. Neighborhood disputes. Noises from next door. Boasting of happiness.
The Sun symbolizes: One’s core center, spirit, heart, issues to do with father, men, self, ego, your male side. How you radiate your sense of being. What others see, how you are recognized or remembered, sense of identity and connection with male energy – yours and others.
Mercury is retrograde on Aquarius 6: A Masked Figure Performs Ritualistic Acts In A Mystery Play. This 'mask' theme is a rather strong one as Mercury went retrograde on January 21 on Aquarius 18: A Man Unmasked At A Masquerade. There can be many things that we are unsure of and we may need to delve to get to the truth of the matter. We may also be 'unmasking' ourselves - finding out who we really are as an individual by removing the societal conditioning that may have lead us astray. One of the other main themes of this retrograde period of Mercury is Aquarius 16: The Big Businessman At His Desk - are you feeling in control of your 'business', your paperwork, your profit and loss, your debts, your taxes? Mercury is likely to be bringing some of these issues to the forefront. Mercury goes direct on February 11 on Aquarius 2: An Unexpected Thunderstorm, so this is a very interesting retrograde period. Some quite unexpected things are likely to happen.
I have recorded my observations of this Mercury retrograde period. You can listen to them by clicking on the link below.
‘A Masked Figure Performs Ritualistic Acts in a Mystery Play’ shows someone playing a role in some kind of ‘Act’ or drama. This can be for the sake of ‘Ritual’, or it can convey a story or message to those observing. Churchmen on church premises performed the original ‘Mystery Plays’ in Latin. They depicted such subjects as the Creation, Adam and Eve, the murder of Abel, and the Last Judgment. As time went on, the ‘Plays’ left the Church and took to the cities and the once strictly religious themes changed into less reverent themes. Nowadays, ‘Mystery Plays’ are rather different.
Keywords: Rituals. Shamanism. Archetypes of personality. Putting on a show. Portrayals of performances that don’t always add-up. The unmasking of someone. Comedy. Banditry. Mystery. Drama. Acting. Rituals. Executioner’s masks. Smoke screens. Doing the technical but not the emotional. Saying or doing things because they “should”. Having alternate personalities.
The Caution: Neurotic performances. Putting on superficial acts. Carrying out “rituals” without being aware of why. Sticking to tradition. Unwilling to admit to changing times. Not knowing who the players are or what the plot is. Being unsure of direction. Lying. Cover-ups. Deceptions. Tricks. Ploys to manipulate.
Mercury symbolizes: Mind, thought, communication, memory, expression, intelligence. News, exchanges, chatting, conversations, short journeys, connections with others, telephones, emails, siblings, neighbors, the reasoning mind. Day-to-day activities. Cars, keys, small animals.
Venus is on Pisces 10: An Aviator In The Clouds. Around the 2nd February, Venus conjoins Neptune, bring up issues to do with relationships, money, how to deal with situations, etc, and with Venus now on The Aviator degree, there could be a propensity to ignore the real picture, the truth of what is happening, or, it can also be that we fly above things in order to get a heightened perspective. The trick is not to lose sight of what's real, not lose sight of the ground.
‘An Aviator in the Clouds’ is an image of a pilot in his plane flying at such a high altitude that he is amongst the ‘Clouds’. It must be exhilarating to be up so high and observing this wonderful other realm. However, flying high can lead to feelings of being cut off and separate from reality and the real world and it is only a matter of time before the ‘Aviator’ must come down out of the ‘Clouds’ as the constraints of his more earth-bound existence eventually kick in.
Keywords: Elevated views. Always seeing the best in people and things. Peace and tranquility. The longing for transcendence. Not seeing limitations. Being in a refined “head space”. Mastery. Flight, planes, pilots. Avoidance of time constraints. Pollyanna attitudes. Free flights of fantasy and escapism. The need for accurate navigation. Being in charge of the controls. Seeking higher truths. Maps. Compasses. Global satellite positioning. Clouds. Mist and fog. Hang-gliding.
The Caution: Sailing through difficulties or missing what’s really going on. Escapist use of alcohol and drugs, etc. Lack of grounded energy or reality. Being unearthed. Escaping responsibilities. Isolating oneself. Completely missing the point. Feeling high and mighty and above everyone else, particularly with intellectual skills. Wrong turns. Missing the signs. Feeling like you’re living in a fog. Disconnecting from others, leading to isolation. Losing the plot. Taking huge risks. One’s head being separate from the body.
Venus symbolizes: Relatedness, cooperation, what attracts you. The experience of sweetness, beauty or delight. Social interactions, love, friends, how you reach out to people. Feminine persona, relationship with mother and females. Money, possessions, sense of values.
Mars is on Pisces 18: In A Huge Tent, A Famous Revivalist Conducts
His Meeting With A Spectacular Performance. Mars here can have us wondering about the sincerity of a message we are hearing, or, we can be swept along by messages that can bring wonderful realisations. It all depends on the message and the messenger. With Mars here, though, we may find ourselves becoming impatient with those who are just sounding off - not really saying anything - just making a noise or forcing their opinions on others.
‘In a Huge Tent a Famous Revivalist Conducts His Meeting With a Spectacular Performance’. This pictures somebody who has the ability to get people up and going on a spiritual, emotional and physical level. Words of hope and redemption and the giving of one’s self to higher purposes and goals are delivered. He works hard to ensure that his words strike the minds and hearts of those listening. Singing and dancing can erupt out of people in celebration. This is largely the result of the passion of the ‘Famous Revivalist’ and the audience may be very inspired by the occasion with people joining in, in some way.
Keywords: Energy and inspiration. Evangelism. Whipped up emotions. Having a lot to say. Being instructional and dogmatic about how things should be. Being in charge. Ecstasy. Loud voices. Conversations that are said out loud. Acoustics affecting sounds. Preaching. Mind control. Performing. Political, religious and spiritual activism. Showmanship. Transformative experiences. Captivated audiences. The media circus.
The Caution: Using spiritualism for greedy financial gain. Overblown feelings of one’s abilities. Big egos. Hysteria. People whipped-up and manipulated by those in charge. Having the agenda of controlling others. Feeling that one has all the answers. Getting het-up about ideals and beliefs. Manipulation and exploitation. Bigotry.
Mars symbolizes: Drive, determination or agenda, how you get to your goals. How you express and handle anger, ambition, assertion of self and ability to step forward. The male principle, sexuality, the ability to step up to the plate when one needs to. Fight or flight.
Jupiter is retrograde on Leo 19: A Houseboat Party Crowded With Revelers;
The Water Reflects Its Lights.
A ‘Houseboat Party’ is shown. It is ‘Crowded With Revelers’ and ‘The Water Reflects its Lights’. This pictures a need for lightening up, relaxing and spending time with like-minded individuals. This ‘Party’ can represent a situation where people come together, eat, drink and share their thoughts and have a good time. The partygoers, the ‘Revelers’, may all be enjoying themselves and having a great time, but it may seem rather short lived, unstable or unreal.
Keywords: Emotive social pleasure. Joining with others in an adventurous spirit. Cleopatra-style parties. The issue of knowing where one’s going. Claustrophobia. Being cast adrift. Delicate social balances. Moored in water or on ground. Leisure times that are fun and free-floating. People getting ‘out of it’.
The Caution: Trapping people into ideals of pleasure. Selfindulgence. Not knowing “where” the party is going to be or finish up. Not being anchored in reality. Feeling “unmoored” and unable to disembark. Nowhere to permanently dock. Unknown destinations. Feeling trapped. Choppy seas. No one at the wheel. Springing a leak. Wanting to bail out. Tipping the boat.
Jupiter symbolizes: The big picture, expansion, exploration, aspirations, religious and philosophical ideals, issues to do with traveling, foreign lands, people and traditions, culture, education, generosity, luck, abundance, support, optimism. Insight through knowledge and wisdom.
Saturn is on Sagittarius 4: A Little Child Learning To Walk With The Encouragement Of Parents. With Saturn here, we might feel that there is not much encouragement, that we have to learn things ourselves, or there may be a feeling of having to take time out to teach and guide someone who needs our help.
‘A Little Child’ is shown ‘Learning to Walk With the Encouragement of Parents’. The ‘Child’ needs the support of the ‘Parents’ in order to learn how to do many of the most basic things. The ‘Child’ needs guidance, love and encouragement in order to grow and have faith in his or her own abilities. Sometimes we have the ‘Encouragement’ and support of our elders, other times not. The ‘Parents’ can’t be there all the time to catch the ‘Little Child’ if it falls, so the ‘Little Child’ must learn to master the steps that are needed in order to become an independent and confident grownup.
Keywords: Making genuine progress or always tripping over. Instinctive determination to get on with the job. People taking delight in the smallest progress. Baby steps leading to big things. Trying out and accepting one’s individuality. Help from authorities. Seeking guidance and advice. Feeling mother earth under your feet. Parental assistance. Walking on new ground.
The Caution: Relying on skills not yet mastered. Not taking the initiative to put one’s self forward. Putting your self at risk rather than accepting help. Acting like one is incompetent in order to draw sympathy and/or help. Meddling and “assisting” when one should be on the sidelines, encouraging. Knowing that someone is going to “trip over” and not offering help.
Saturn symbolizes: Authority, rules, discipline and obligation The heavy stuff. What we fear, loss, karma, aging, the establishment, orthodoxy, tradition, status, the concept of time, walls, boundaries, limits, older people, restrictions, patience, conquering difficulties.
Uranus is on Aries 14: A Serpent Coiling Near A Man And A Woman. Uranus has been on this degree for quite a few weeks, bringing up issues to do with sex, relationships and relating. Perhaps a little knowledge is a good thing, perhaps it can lead us astray. It can also be that the uptight attitudes of society in general get in the way of people freely expressing themselves and their sexuality.
A Serpent Coiling Near a Man and a Woman’ symbolizes the story of the “temptation” of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The ‘Serpent’ offered Adam and Eve the gift of self-knowledge. However, this “knowledge” also revealed to them that they were naked and that this was sinful. The ‘Serpent’ was said to have brought them both knowledge and guilt. The “snake” can be symbolic of anything that induces fear or negativity into a situation. On the other hand, what the “snake” symbolizes can bring a healing and a profound sense of, or need for, selfknowledge. This Symbol can show the celebration of the physical body and the enjoyment of another through all of the senses.
Keywords: Enticement. Allurement. Revealing archetypal knowledge that may not be “socially acceptable”. Temptations. The Adam and Eve story. Jealousy. Sexual instincts. Life and death issues. Relating based on control. Kundalini energy. Realizing polarity. Individuation. Eating the Apple. The “knowledge of good and evil”. Having one’s eyes opened. Marking one’s territory.
The Caution: Feeling guilty. Being afraid to express one’s feelings. Basic instincts and sexual energy. The fear of knowledge, secret or otherwise. Using sexuality as a control device. Disgust or distrust of the body. Sexually transmitted diseases - particularly herpes = snake. Hiding nudity or sexuality. Being thrown out of paradise.
Uranus symbolizes: The unexpected, things that are individual or ‘different’. Charged, energetic dynamics, electricity, light, lightning bolts, sudden changes, those who live on the fringe of society. Sudden turns and twists of fate. Rebellion, surprises, liberation, freedom.
Neptune is on Pisces 7: Illuminated By A Shaft Of Light, A Large Cross Lies On Rocks Surrounded By Sea And Mist. Neptune here can be particularly difficult as we may find that we have to search for 'the light' - we can feel that we've worked hard and for what? or, we can feel like someone or something has let us down, sometimes badly. Neptune here can also indicate religions dominating the landscape.
‘Illuminated By a Shaft of Light, a Large Cross Lies on Rocks Surrounded By Sea and Mist’ is an image that inspires feelings of chaos and misplaced loyalties. It can feel as though something has been unjustly sacrificed and things have come to nothing. Christ was forsaken on ‘A Large Cross’. The ‘Cross’ can indicate a crucifix and can show the shouldering of trouble and misfortune or faith and hope. The ‘Shaft of Light’ indicates that spiritual and creative help is at hand.
Keywords: Renewed dedication after loss. Looking for signs of hope and recovery. Coming to terms with loss or failure. Rocks, mist, howling winds on coasts. Crosses of faith. Important and substantial sacrifices. Being devastated by events. Being in the “spotlight” in difficult times. Finding the way through the dark. The need for sacrifice. Alternative religions. Stepping outside religious boundaries.
The Caution: Lost faith. Hopes dashed. Giving up. Being shattered by the constraints of life. Depression. Feeling like one is being sacrificed, sometimes for nothing. Unable to see through the fog. Scorn, persecution and attack because of religious or social reasons. Hopelessness. Things grim, dark and foreboding.
Neptune symbolizes: Mystical, “out there,” spirituality and con artists. Dreams, mysteries, mystics and religious issues. Intuition, clairvoyance, seeing into the invisible. Addictive, chaotic, charming, deceptive, illusory, co dependent, sensory awareness.
Pluto is on Capricorn 15: In A Hospital, The Children's Ward Is Filled With Toys. Although it's been a topic for a long time, I'm hearing more and more about health, allergies, issues to do with vaccinations, etc, in the news and in the media. The 'Toys' can mean many things from fun activities to medical gizmos to techniques to calm the body, mind or spirit.
‘In a Hospital, the Children’s Ward is Filled With Toys’ brings to mind an image of children in varying states of health. They are in need of care, with doctors and nurses going about their business. There’s the need for vigilant duty for the physical and emotional needs of ‘The Children’. Some ‘Children’ will be playing with the ‘Toys’, whilst others may be sleeping or too ill to respond with much energy or enthusiasm.
Keywords: Bringing simple gifts to the sick or disadvantaged. Looking after one’s responsibilities. Nurturing people of younger years or those who have had less growth. Workshops held to improve one’s health; be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Drugs, crutches, cots, doctors, nurses. Waiting for and needing individual attention. Waiting rooms. Magazines. Toys. Gadgets. Puzzles. Games.
The Caution: Making a large generous show when one does not really care. Being dogmatic. Feeling in charge of healing and not listening to what others have to say. Using gadgets instead of simple human caring. Fear of things such as needles, etc. Being greedy and wanting all the toys.
Pluto symbolizes: Unconscious motivation, depth psychology, histories and dark mythologies, sex, death, transformation, the ability to delve into dark corners, the collective, war, power struggles, upheavals, stories of life and death, regeneration, hidden forces, spiritual power.
Chiron is on Pisces 16: In A Quiet Moment, A Creative Individual Experiences The Flow Of Inspiration. Chiron is asking, in amongst all the activity of this full Moon, that we take some time out in a 'quiet moment' so we can experience the 'flow of inspiration'. Chiron can richly reward us if we listen to the promptings of our intuition and creative self.
‘A Quiet Moment’ is pictured in which ‘A Creative Individual Experiences The Flow of Inspiration’. The ‘Creative Individual’ can experience rushes of energy, thought and ‘Inspiration’ through finding some ‘Quiet’ time or through meditation.
Keywords: Creativity inspired from above. Openness to higher forces and ideals. Realizations. Dreams. Channeling thoughts and feelings. Messages from one’s higher self. Finding solutions. Moments of calm leading to resolutions. Free flowing thoughts. The gift of inspiration. Turning on the tap of creativity. Blockages unblocked.
The Caution: Being too tired to meditate. Choosing to be unaware or to sleep instead of thinking purposefully. Not talking about what needs to be said. Having a lot of ideas that don’t translate into reality. Shutting off from others. Loud voices in the head. Schizophrenia.
Chiron symbolizes: Our wounds and it is known as The Wounded Healer, it also shows The Stories That We Tell Ourselves, it is where we have to focus on healing, it can show things that are out of shape or misplaced or in need of repair.
The Moon's North Node is on Libra 12: Miners Are Emerging From A Deep Coal Mine.
‘Miners Are Emerging From a Deep Coal Mine’. They have been working hard, and now the siren has sounded and their shift is finished. Coming back to the surface, they can take a deep breath and feel themselves infused with fresh energy. Even if the Sun is going down at the end of the day, it and fresh air can bring a new awareness and wonder at being alive. The ‘Miners’ are free for now and finished with the day’s work.
Keywords: Release from arduous labor. Stopping work. Coming into the light. Deep subconscious healing. Hypnotherapy. Going into dark places. Claustrophobia. Memories from the past or out of nowhere. The Caution: Gloomy outlooks. Not seeing potentials. Emerging with a “blackened face”. Difficulty breathing. Earning a living being a life and death situation. Working hard for small rewards. Emotional loops. Things hard to escape. Fear of confinement or capture.
North Node symbolizes: This is known as quite a ‘karmic point’ (although all planets and points in a chart can be’karmic’). One’s destiny in this life. The things you are meant to integrate, move towards, become. Destined relationships and relationship issues can show up here.
The Moon's South Node is on Aries 12: A Flock Of Wild Geese. The South Node has been conjunct Uranus this last week or so, bringing the need to let go of old issues, old patterns, old beliefs, old or outworn relationships, jobs, thought patters... all that.
The ‘Flock of Wild Geese’ is a beautifully inspiring image of brotherhood and Aquarian ideals. Watching them fly can inspire feelings of group cohesion and the beauty of natural rhythms. The ‘Flock’ shows the need to join with others in a journey or a quest. Remember to take your cue from the ‘Wild Geese’ – when they fly in formation, they take turns in leading the way. Likewise, when one gets tired or sick, another takes the lead.
Keywords: Aquarian ideals of brotherhood. Attunement to planetary rhythms. Spirit liberated from matter. Wanting to take off by one’s self, but not being able to. Focused group activity and support. Group mentality, action and agreement. Intuition and telepathy. Choreography. Camaraderie. “Honking” to egg each other on. Flying in the slipstream. Responses to seasonal changes. Migrating at the right times. Travelling. Herds, gangs. broods. Flying in formation.
The Caution: Following the leader without knowing where one’s going. Never knowing where to land, or where to ground oneself. Wild goose chases. Not recognizing the brotherhood in humanity. Losing a sense of individual identity. Going off in the wrong direction. Being lost in the crowd. Being one of a gaggle.
The Moon's South Node symbolizes: Past karmic patterns to be overcome, can be habits that are good, but can describe things, relationships, issues that you need to let go of, or, hold you back from manifesting your true destiny. Relationships that feel karmic and difficult, memories from the past.

They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts.

However, flying high can lead to feelings of being cut off and separate from reality and the real world and it is only a matter of time before the ‘Aviator’ must come down out of the ‘Clouds’ as the constraints of his more earth-bound existence eventually kick in.

The Caution: Relying on skills not yet mastered. Not taking the initiative to put one’s self forward. Putting your self at risk rather than accepting help.
Neptune here can also indicate religions dominating the landscape.
