As a polymath, Martin also has a wide range of interests on how society, culture, economics, regulation and technology also intersect. He co-founded the Hypervoice Consortium, where we have explored the fundamental forces and opportunities of the sensor-driven world. Martin is an expert in lean quality systems and a pioneer of digital supply chain management. He helped to bring the new science and mathematics of network performance into the world. He did this by adapting proven management theory from other industries (that work at the speed of sound or less) to telecoms and cloud (that work at the speed of light).
Martin is a scholar of emerging telecoms business models and technologies, and a network performance scientist. He is widely known through his public speaking and writing about the future of personal communications and networking. He consults to players across the ecosystem through speaking, training and innovation services to telcos, equipment vendors, cloud services providers and industry bodies.
He is co-founder and Executive Director of the Hypervoice Consortium, an industry association that researches and advocates for communication technologies that benefit humankind. Geddes is formerly Strategy Director at BT’s network division, and Chief Analyst and co-founder at Telco 2.0. Martin previously worked on a pioneering mobile web project at Sprint, where he was a named inventor on 9 patents, and at Oracle as a specialist in high-scalability database systems. He is currently writing a book on the future of the Internet and distributed computing. He holds an MA in Mathematics & Computation from the University of Oxford.
