THE EXACT
Saturn-Pluto alignment, when both planets were at precisely the same
degree of Capricorn, is now technically behind us. But major
astrological events such as this usually
affect us for many months beyond the moment of their perfection. It's
impossible to contain the ripple of waves once a large boulder has been
dropped into a body of water. The displacement of energies continues to
play itself out for quite a while.
And,
with so many planets joining Saturn and Pluto in earthy Capricorn at
the time of their rendezvous -- plus the Lunar Eclipse that occurred two
days before -- it's not surprising that we've been feeling overwhelmed.
The world has been feeling top-heavy, and for some, it's turned
completely upside down.
IMAGINE
trying to keep your shoulders level while carrying a very heavy weight
in one hand, and you can appreciate the effect of having so many planets
in one sign. Perhaps you
are likewise feeling that your life has
shifted out of balance, due to a specific heavy load you are carrying.
Or, it may be the sheer magnitude of juggling so much at once that is
causing overwhelm.
Some
of the balls we are juggling are actually filled with light, for there
is also magic that we can access now. As Saturn and Pluto dismantle
social systems and personal patterns, they are also dismantling time and
other constructs that have held physical reality separate from other
dimensions.
PERHAPS
you are feeling "head over heels" rather than feeling that life has
turned upside-down. But, whether you feel like you are floating or your
feet feel as heavy as lead, it is very important to get plenty of rest
and good sleep right now.
As
physical structures, our bodies are deeply affected by this
Saturn-Pluto alignment in Capricorn. Many people are experiencing health
issues, often in their joints, bones, teeth, and other bodily systems
ruled by Capricorn. While we can bemoan having these symptoms, it may
help to remember that these planets are only revealing where there is
structural weakness, not causing
it.
This
is our opportunity to clear out what is of a lower vibration so that we
can rebuild with higher-frequency "materials." We can assist the
process by raising the vibration of our mental and emotional bodies. One
way to do this is by connecting with the light of our Divine Self that
resides at the center of our being. Some people imagine this as a pole
of light along the spine, or a
sphere of light in the heart area.
Once
we connect there, we can then imagine this light of our Being radiating
out, expanding into our physical, emotional, and mental bodies. This
can be very helpful in clearing out all that is of a lower
frequency, while also providing a higher vibration to be used in the
rebuilding process.
THE GRADUAL MIGRATION
of the faster-moving planets out of Capricorn should help us move
beyond some of the places where we've been feeling stuck. Mercury moved
into Aquarius last Friday, bringing forward new
information that shifted our perspective in some way. As a result, we now have a clearer view of the road ahead.
This
Monday, the Sun also enters Aquarius, supporting us to move beyond
restrictions and into a new paradigm. And, Ceres will enter Aquarius at
the end of this month, helping us more fully accept, appreciate, and
support individual differences.
SOME SURPRISES are
again in store this week. The Sun squares unpredictable Uranus on
Wednesday, and Friday's New Moon is also square that planet. This
lunation marks the end of the official "eclipse season," but the Uranus
aspects may make it feel like we still are engaged with
eclipse-like energies.
Sometimes, surprises seem to be arranged simply to keep us flexible. Other times, they are larger in scope – literal or symbolic earthquakes or
lightning bolts – designed to jar
us out of complacency or a comfort zone, so that we might be liberated
in some way. Most of us tend to become creatures of habit over time. One
of Uranus' task is to alter our course so that we no longer travel the
same rutted road we are used to taking.
THE NEW MOON occurs at 1:41 p.m. PST on Friday, when the Sun and Moon are both at 04°21′
Aquarius. The square to Uranus is the most significant aspect in the
New Moon chart, indicating that the coming lunar cycle is one of
continued change.
Uranus has been called the "god of chaos," and we often see somewhat chaotic situations occurring when it is activated. But
it also has higher vibrational qualities, revealed through the
translation of the Greek word Ouranos (Uranus), which means "the sky
crowned with
stars."
Astrologer
Liz Greene writes that Uranus "reflects our universal human longing to
know where we are going and why." She acknowledges that:
"Many
people find it difficult to express Uranus, for they are required to
detach themselves from their immediate emotional needs and look toward a
bigger future design ... Yet if we avoid expressing Uranus, its
creative power will erupt into our world in spite of us –
through change that we unconsciously need, and in some cases even
provoke, but which we may experience as personally devastating when it
arrives.
The heavenly vision of Uranus may sometimes feel impersonal and cold,
yet it offers us greater freedom through a new and broader perspective
on our lives."
THE DIVERGENT ROAD
that we start to walk with this Aquarian New Moon is likely to take us
into unknown territory, where we continually need to broaden our
perspective. We may also feel very strongly about certain issues, given
that the Moon is aligned with the fixed star Alshat. Roderick
Kidston writes that Alshat "prompts an urge to stand for something," but
that it also conveys great strength and courage.
This
new lunar cycle will inspire many to take a stand, speak loudly, and
perhaps even demand to be heard. How we each use this influence depends
on our core values, and how we want to direct its powerful energies.
