ECLIPSE SEASONS are usually times of significance in our lives, and this current pair of eclipses is certainly living up to that reputation. In particular, since last week's Solar Eclipse was a "South Node eclipse" (being very close to that karmic point), we are being urged -- and perhaps required -- to release old patterns and beliefs that have been holding us back.

These patterns and beliefs have been so ingrained that we may not have seen them clearly before -- but these eclipses are clearing the cobwebs from our consciousness. As they do their work, the eclipses are helping us become aware that certain mindsets and self-concepts are not the truth of who we are, and are actually keeping us from becoming the best that we can be.

AS WE NAVIGATE the days leading up to the Lunar Eclipse on March 23, we have opportunities to make choices that will greatly impact where we go from here in our lives. We start off on Monday with a challenging Mercury-Saturn aspect that requires us to do some serious thinking about where we might have been deluding ourselves. This may not be a pleasant internal conversation, but it is vital that we gain some clarity if we are to make more life-enhancing decisions. Thankfully, Mercury also forms a supportive aspect with Pluto, giving us the power to focus our minds and see the truth more clearly.

But, given the Venus-Mars square that is also on Monday, we should not expect everyone to be on board with our agenda. In fact, it may be best to keep our thoughts to ourselves for the time being, since we are in a fragile stage of unfolding that could easily be harmed by harsh opinions offered by others.

MERCURY IS ACTIVE again on Tuesday, keeping our minds moving through aspects to Jupiter and Ceres. These aspects represent the potential for more expansive and positive thinking, while at the same time enabling us to share our thoughts in a caring way with others.

Still, with Venus in a hard aspect to Uranus on the same day, it is best to hold our relationships openly, and not expect others to necessarily see things our way.

JUPITER AND PLUTO form a supportive trine aspect on Wednesday, helping us feel more in charge of our lives, and more optimistic about our ability to make the changes we need to make. Since Jupiter and Pluto are slower-moving planets, we can consider this energy to be with us all week, rather than just on this one day.

This aspect will occur again on June 26, so we will want to observe our perspectives and choices now, and see how they have evolved by that last week of June.

THURSDAY is another "Mercury day" -- the Messenger Planet will align with both Chiron and the South Node. These alignments focus on our mind on issues from the past that we are ready to release, especially those thought patterns that have kept us in victim consciousness. Chiron's involvement assists our healing of these patterns, enabling us to move through life with greater trust and faith.

Things get a little contentious on Friday with a hard Mars-Uranus aspect in effect. If battles have been brewing, this may be the day when tempers flare and actions are taken.

THE ARIES EQUINOX occurs on Saturday at 9:30pm PDT (4:30am Sunday GMT), marking the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of autumn in the Southern. The equinox is always a time of transition -- and also a time when the aurora borealis are more active, although scientists cannot explain why.

The chart for the minute that the equinox occurs is called the "birth chart" for the coming season, and represents some of the themes that we will carry forward into the next three months. The Jupiter-Pluto trine is a major player in that chart, so we are supported in making important changes throughout this time. And Chiron, Ceres, and the South Node are aligned, indicating that we will be healing old patterns of helplessness and powerlessness.

THE VENUS-NEPTUNE ALIGNMENT that occurs on Sunday is also an important player in the equinox chart, so we will want to observe how the energies play out on Sunday. In positive effect, when these two planets work together we are more understanding, more open-hearted, and more able to see relationships through the eyes of our Soul.

On the other hand, we must also be careful not to be so idealistic that we do not see others clearly. We must not turn our compassion into an excuse to play victim or rescuer. And, we must gain understanding of the true meaning of unconditional love -- not love that turns us into a doormat or martyr, but love that knows that each person has their own internal guidance system and their unseen support team. It is often by accepting that each person is held in love by the universe that we can step back and trust them to grow in their own way.

In peace,

Pam
