THE PLANETS take a short recess on Monday, giving us the opportunity to settle into our new lunar cycle. Over the next seven days, as we allow our awareness to grow along with the waxing Moon, we can begin to sense what's next -- whether we need to make decisions and take action, or if our highest path right now is to turn inward and become more familiar and comfortable with the patient knowing that fills the realms of our soul.

Given that the image for this lunar cycle is about staying calm so that we can be open to higher inspiration, we will want to use the supportive energies of the Sun-Neptune trine both Monday night and Tuesday morning to enhance our connection within. Then, when minor conflicts arise on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the "real" world comes knocking on the door of our inner ashram, we will be more able maintain our center and not be drawn into the drama.

ON WEDNESDAY, the challenges that arise can bring us to a place of somber reflection, represented by the Moon-Saturn alignment that occurs at 1:09pm PDT (8:09pm GMT). The positive potential is that these two planets in Sagittarius can help us gain more certainty about what we believe in and what choices we want to make -- we'll just need to monitor our emotional response so that realism does not disintegrate into pessimism.

A Mars-Ceres aspect, also on Wednesday, indicates a conflict between our need to be self-determined and our ego's desire to follow the rule book and live up to the expectations of the outside world. This provides an opportunity for us to choose confidence and self-reliance over feelings of fear or inadequacy.

THE CRESCENT MOON occurs on Thursday at 1:49pm PDT (8:49pm GMT). This first lunar phase after the New Moon represents a time of breakthrough, as we realize that we are in a new stage and that it is truly time to let go of where we have been.

Reinforcing our sense of purpose is important now. We can do this by consciously recommitting to the new person we are becoming or to the new manifestation we are wanting to bring into form. This intentionality will help us move beyond the old attitudes and perspectives that could serve to tie us to the past.

VENUS is in the spotlight on Friday, bringing relationships into focus. At first we may need to address some old wounds and the legacy of mistrust that has resulted. But, by the end of the day, we have the opportunity to turn our perspective around, to accept that each person has a right to their needs for independent action, and to liberate ourselves from the bonds of victimization.

Mercury, known as The Messenger Planet, is very active over the weekend. This is likely to manifest through a flood of communications, some pleasant, and some abrasive. Mercury is now in Scorpio, a sign that can be very powerful, dynamic, and sometimes stubborn. These qualities, when applied to verbal or written interactions, often stir conflict.

We may see strong disagreements on Saturday in particular, when resistance to new ways of thinking is heightened. By Sunday, there are openings in the mental armor, and a chance to adjust our thinking.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: This coming year is designed to help you move beyond the limitations of the past. Along the way, you will have support from the unseen realms in releasing what no longer works for you, such as lingering resentments and attachments. Once you do this release work, you can access your intuition with greater ease than before, and feel more in tune with your soul and your divine calling.

In peace,

Pam
